Had to do this again for 10.3.2.798 (and was successful). Since 10.3.2 is coming out for all devices, it seems like we shouldn't have to do this anymore at some point, right? I look forward to that.

Hopefully, when (and if) Verizon releases it. I'm pretty sure they will, but when is anybody's guess.

Ok So after obsessing over not having this feature for the last few days I finally took the plunge and extracted ALL the VVM files from 10.2.1.3358. I expected the worst but hoped for the best. So. since there are a good bit of vvm files I decided NOT to test them 1 by 1 but to just load them all. ( what could it hurt.. ) Needless to say, loading these files worked. After side loading them, I rebooted the phone and went back thru the visual voice mail set up process. I didn't receive the error this time, but instead was asked for my password. After I submitted my password it took me to the vvm info screen, I exited it. Called my phone and left myself a voicemail and it worked. My phone still gave the pop up of having a new voice mail. I went into the hub and played it. I know there are a few people at least who were hoping for a fix and luckily its a pretty simple one. Here are all the vvm files that I used. this was for a Z30 os but, I'm sure they should work for all other phones on the Verizon network also.

Okay. So on to 10.3.1 Os Verizon voicemail fix.
This is a little more tricky.

So. I've managed to get VVM working on every single leak and release by doing this method.
Loaded 10.3.0.1052. Loaded the 538 bar. Signed in my blackberry ID then got visual voice mail working and that's it.
    Made a back up.
Then load whatever OS I want. Side load the one ecid538 file.
Open blackberry link. Click restore. then custom. Select only the calendar/contacts option. ( not the applications ) them restore.
And visual voice mail works like a charm every time!
And now, I can use that one back up file with every OS I have loaded. I never have to go thru this again.
If you have other data you need restored from another backup. Just select it and only restore the applications part of the restore. ( if you didn't have visual voice mail working. ) if u had visual voicemail working on a previous installation and did a back up you may be fine to restore everything. Personally I never use a backup I always start an OS fresh. I only do this to get visual voicemail working again.

    Enjoy!
OK, I messed up the steps, help! After I installed OS 10.3.0.1052 and made a backup, I installed the new OS 10.3.2.2204, before loading the 538bar file and activating VVM. Now what?

Find another BlackBerry that isn't on 10.3.2 or wait till official is available. 840 just dropped will be testing tomorrow for free vvm

I don't think that any of the leaks will work with VVM. Hasn't since way back. I still don't trust Verizon to get their version out either! Is there no way to roll back the OS? Reset to the original version

    This is the order;

    1...install os
2...use Sachesi to install 538 file
3...restore whatever backup you have that vvm worked on. Uncheck (don't restore) BlackBerry runtime.
    4...now reboot device. Not before.

I'm not following. I have the 10.3.2.2044 installed and sideloaded the 538 file. Trouble I'd that I installed the 10.3.2 os before adding 538 and activating VVM. Need to roll back the OS to a version that supports VVM and start again from there

If you don't have a backup from a os that vvm was working on then you are stuck. What about the original os that came on the phone? No backup?

Don't have a backup. I created a backup after I installed 10.3.0.1052 using link. Does that help? Also, I have a backup of my present device which is running 10.3.2.2204 and has VVM working. Can I use that?

    So try this;
    1...Security wipe the phone.
    2...Install the .538 file
    3...Restore the 10.3.0.1052 backup
    4...Reboot

You won't be able to restore the 2204 backup to the 840 os.

Thanks so much! I setup VVM today on 10.3.2.840 but with the usual workaround and $2.99/mo fee. After I read your post I went into the Verizon mobile app and selected "Change Features", then VVM, then "Related Features".

Free VVM was an option, I chose it and I now have the basic VVM at no charge. Wouldn't have done that if I hadn't read your post.

As you stated, looks like free VVM is here.

EDIT: I may have spoke too soon. Although I can sign up for the new VVM, because I did the workaround and replaced the 538 bar with the old one, my phone won't do the free VVM. Going to try to replace the 538 bar with the original that came either 840 and see if that works. Will report back.

Finally have the vvm services working on 10.3.2 without the work around. I spent 3 hrs on the phone with verizon support and finally got someone that acknowledged that this was an internal system issue. After I was passed along to someone that actually cared, she documented everything and opened tickets with internal verizon IT to make sure that they have the new vvm services (called ims) available to the z30. It was a long process, but it succeeded finally!!

So I'm still on 2204. Was using the work around, saw the last couple of posts and decided to try anyway.

So far I keep getting this. I'll have more time to work on it later and it will probably work out just fine. In the meantime in vvm'less

so I tried to go through the normal setup process and finally it seemed to work and the vm icon showed up in my hub. I was having an unrelated problem so I restarted my phone, and now it's gone. Tried hard reset....nothing. When I go back through the setup, it says it is being activated. It's been about 1.5 hours now.

Can someone tell me how to extract the 538 VVM bar file from 840? I tried extracting the bar files from the autoloader but didn't see it. Thanks!

Extract the os inside sachesi or darcy, can't remember the exact folder but there's a bar folder, under seed maybe. That's where you will find it

edit: i had the autoloader on my pc still so just extracted it, here you go:

Thanks VZW for finally turning on VVM. Working great here without extra steps. It was not working yesterday with the same configuration. VVM to text works well and I may keep the premium VVM. Running autoloader 840 here.

Working great with free VVM. No workaround needed. Just load 10.3.2.840. Use the Verizon app to select free VVM (couldn't find the option on the website with my computer).

Go to phone app settings and choose Voicemail, then Visual Voicemail. Run the setup and you should be all set.

They will immediately give you a free month of premium VVM without asking. I didn't want it, so I just went back on the Verizon app and switched it back to free VVM.

So glad to see Verizon stepping up and making VVM available to us at no cost. It always annoyed me that we had to pay when other carriers didn't charge.
