I now restarted phone and iit turned off but when it went to turn on, the red led light just kept flashing. I removed battery, put it back and then it turned on. Still not restored though. Please help.

Go back to 10.2, restore and use an external app for backup contact etc. After that flash back to 10.3 but do not restore settings

Will that fix or could be something else? And what if I just restore right now but without settings? Could that fix it? Thanks.

I had the same issue too. The restore process stopped at some point without errors, but it wasn't restoring anything. Sadly BlackBerry Link is broken, if you ask me. I solved by de-selecting media files from the restore. I lost my photos and videos (they were automatically uploaded to box, though), but the restore process went finally smooth.

I'm a firm believer of never restoring. Texts are never important enough to care, pictures and videos are always backed up and emails are saved to each account. Don't particularly see the urgency here

    Reasons to restore:
    1) contacts
    2) wifi profiles and passwords
    3) specific icon layouts and folders
    4) prevent app re dowloading from app world and snap
    5) password keeper info
    6) browser book marks

You have to wonder about people that say not to restore. What exactly do they use their BlackBerry devices for if they have zero data worth restoring? Not everyone pushes their data to cloud storage and not everybody saves their data to the SD card. Restoring data is a valuable process to countless users.

OP, what errors are you getting when doing your restore? Are you waiting for it to complete? It takes a very long time to restore a 10.2 backup to a 10.3 OS. It can take several hours. And you HAVE TO wait for your phone to completely reboot before you disconnect it from your computer or close Link.

You can also try restoring using Sachesi, to rule out any bugs with Link.
If it still fails, your device just won't take the restore and you probably need to roll back to the version you did the backup on for it to complete successfully.
Otherwise, your backup may be corrupt.

I was having an issue with restore not working. I did a custom one after wiping and reloading the updated os. I deselected BlackBerry runtime in the restore and a few apps that I didn't mind reloading. Got my pictures and music back. Used the backup pro app for my contacts. It worked for me that way.

I just went back to 10.2.1.3337. Maps sometimes didn't work on the 10.3 I was on and I didn't want to risk any unexpected issued layer so I decided to just wait until the official release happens. Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply! You guys are what make crackberry rock! And the restore worked as it should on 10.2.1.3337 so no more worries.

Side note: 10.3 truly is freaking unbelievable!

Yea, well, DO NOT RESTORE FROM 10.2.1 TO 10.3.0...start fresh or wait until an official 10.3 drops...if you don't know how to update all the buggy problems you will have from doing this...then DON'T DO IT. You are mixing old code and newer code...not always a good idea.

Use backup pro from BBW for remember and contacts. Save them in cloud/computer/sd card

I have them automatically uploaded to box. I got my friend to sign onto my account with his iPhone and bam, 50GB for life. And if that's not enough, sign into Dropbox with a Samsung device and get 75GB free for life.
Info on remember I see as being a legitimate reason to restore but I have all my contacts backed up on Gmail. Never have to worry about readding people again.

    3) Convenience is worth sacrificing to avoid frustration

But like I said, I am a firm believer, not necessarily you. For me, I've changed phones enough to know that it isn't worth being so attached to one device, especially if anything goes wrong. But if you prefer the hassle of backing up and restoring, (it will never be as functional as making a Nandroid) then be my guest and go ahead.

Good plan, restore apps and media only...no settings (different os versions have issues with newer vs older code in settings)
