    Hello CrackBerry forum members,

    I have a curious question:
    I am a Z10 user in USA on AT&T.
Few weeks back, using Sachesi, I upgraded to OS version 10.1.0.4181; works fine.

But now, I am getting greedy for 10.2 on my phone.
Since 10.2 has not yet come to the US, is it Ok if I update to Rogers Canada's 10.2 version 10.2.0.424?
Would it cause any complications to my phone's functioning?

I am opting for Rogers update for 10.2, as I believe the radio frequencies for North America are different from the rest of the world.
And Rogers is a GSM network, as is AT&T.

Could you clarify my doubts here please?

    Thanks!

10.2 update hasn't come to T-MOBILE either, right?
And did you update using Sachesi, or using other means?

Nop. Just back up with BlackBerry Link and run the .exe and then restore. That's it

I think I am missing out on something here.
If I am correct, you are referring to downloading a leaked OS version and then updating the Z10 phone using the .exe file provided in the leaked OS files.
    Please clarify.

If you used Sachesi before I would look at doing it non-destructively. I think the code is 234/015 using that method. I have a Q and a Z both on AT&T. Updated the Z to 1803 using that method yesterday. And IMHO if you are going to use an autoloader to try a leak that pretty much is going to wipe your phone, I would try a higher build.

I am running 10.2.0.1803 on T-Mobile and love it. There is no WiFi calling but other than that.... awesome.

I used Sachesi and grabbed the Vodafone files and used it to overload them non-destructively.

1803 appears to have very material RF improvements over earlier loads and IMHO is what you want to try.

Well until there's a radio file for 10.2.1.1083......

I'd like to try it, but I wonder if I'm going to be trading stability off in a not-good way by running it.

It is worth the wait!!!!! Got it done this morning. I wasn't a big fan of the new call screen but I'm starting to like it.

I was on 1791 -- the 1803 radio performance is MARKEDLY better. The difference is not small.

    Update:
I tried upgrading my Z10 (STL-3) to OS 10.2.0.424 (Rogers Canada latest official OS update) through Sachesi, i.e. the non-destructive way.
The loading of all the BAR files in the folder happened flawlessly, but then on the first restart, my phone remained on the BlackBerry (white text) logo for a long long time.
So in panic, I pulled the battery out and restarted it. It started fine, and shows OS updated to 10.2, with many changes to the UX here. :-)

But, strangely, my phone's software release still shows as 10.1.0.4181; but the OS version is 10.2.0.1791, and so are rest of the version numbers in the 10.2 range.
    Found the weird.
The new Android run time is awesome! Side loaded apps work better now.

The phone was slow in the first start after 10.2 update; but after another update, haven't noticed such slowing down issues.

    Thanks for your help folks!
    Cheers team #CrackBerry

Were there any negative effects as it pertains to making/receiving phone calls and/or text messages? As a USA Z10 STL100-3 owner, who is on AT&T, as well, I've been considering doing this for the past couple of days. I backed up my phone through BlackBerry Link, perused Sachesi, etc., etc. However, since my phone has never had ANY issues whatsoever (It has been a beacon of consistency for 9 months on both, official AT&T OS 10.0 and 10.1.), I am a bit hesitant. OK, understatement. I'm more than a "bit" hesitant. :-) So, I am wondering if it is really worth the effort/risk of turning something so perfect into a potential matter of distress, as in some examples you come across many times when reading in the forums. So, since you are on the same network, and own an identical phone version, could you please keep us updated as to how the upgrade works out for you over the next couple of days of adjustment. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

24 hours of use and counting.
No side effects noted as yet (fingers crossed). :-)
    All works good.

Now using 10.2.0.424 OS (Rogers Canada) on Z10, AT&T STL100-3.
Go ahead, use Sachesi and have fun using 10.2.

DON'T pull the battery. It's not hung -- it doesn't actually update the files until it reboots, and it takes a while.
