If you like to have options like I do, check out a cheap app I have on my Z10's and Playbook:
    It's in BlackBerry World
It is called "Advanced Camera" and the developer adds stuff from time to time for free.
There is an adjustable time-lapse option too.
Check out some of the options here:

I put it here because of so many people complaining about the leaked os's camera...just showing a camera app that works with all the leaks and just happens to work with the stock ones too.

P.S. It's in the app section too.

Thanks for the tip OP - much appreciated. Just wondering if you've tried the time lapse feature on it? If so, does it work well and can it be saved straight to a memory card? I've been looking for a good time lapse camera for a while now - so this might be the way to go.

A while back, just before I purchased this app for both my Z10 And Playbook I saw that a guy posted a phenomenal time-lapse thingie (video?) online about a crew at his house installing a solar system on top of his roof. It's awesome. He propped up his Playbook, plugged it into his charger an left it to record a picture about every 30 seconds I think. You might be able to still see it. I'll try to find it and post a link to it...

Edit: Just google "BlackBerry PlayBook time-lapse "...You Tube videos come up in the Z10's browser and play back nicely...(couldn't get the older "Solar Panel" one for you.)

Thank you for the in depth responses. I managed to find the video you were referring to - it looked pretty good and fairly easy to set up. I wasn't able to find out if it plays nicely with a memory card but I think I'll purchase it anyway and just take the risk.

    Thanks again for the recommendation.

It saves to your memory card if that's what you mean. BlackBerry 10 phones do not put ANY APPS on our sd cards. Reason is because doing that does cause a bottleneck. BlackBerry won't program our phones to do that.

I meant 'play nicely' as in whether or not the individual photographs (not just the end video) get saved to memory card - as opposed to the device storage.

Some of the apps I've used previously save the photographs to the device memory and then copy the end video to the memory card. This can become an issue if your device storage is low / the time lapse recording is particularly long.

I really hope that we get a native time lapse mode added to the camera in a future update - especially now that Apple have added it to iOS 8.

Thank you for the nice words.

Unfortunately I forgot my app signing password after reinstalling my developer system. Actually the old password is not working and I'm 120% sure I'm typing the correct password. Restoring password is impossible at Blackberry. I requested new signing keys but I can't upload an update with this. I'm so sorry that I can't bring new features to my app
