I have a BlackBerry z10 STL100-2, with every single update i don't see a difference in battery life its just terrible i have tried installing some leaked versions before i'm running official version from Vodafone uk now, is there anything i can do, takes 2 1/2 hours to charge but takes 40 minutes to empty on bad days 1hour 20 if im carefull.

    Any help is welcome.

Sounds like a bad battery. I am a heavy user and on bad days I may get 3 hours on good days with light use I will get 8+ hours. If you are draining a battery at that rate, I would bet money that your battery is defective.

It may actually simply be a defective battery. See if you have any coverage for defects from Vodafone. If not then you may have to get a new battery mate. It happened to a friend of mine on a Galaxy S2 and man was she ever unhappy. Sometimes batteries go bad. How long have you had this device and was it bought new?

I have security wiped my phone 3 times before, took my phone back in to the shop and there telling me that its "normal" for BlackBerrys, he was obviously on the side of the iPhone as he never had his 5s out has hand and wore a apple tshirt.

It's not normal, your battery should last extremely long if you leave your phone on idle. Call your carrier and their trouble shooting department or something. Definitely defective somewhere

It is still quite new. It sure sounds like a battery issue. You can try your luck with your carrier. In the worst case they can just get you a good deal on a new battery. I usually fully charge discharge to dead and then fully charge again at first use. 2-1/2 hour charge rate is fine. 40 minute up time is horrible. Good luck.

That sounds like you are draining a good 5W or now from the battery - that's the same rate a game night be able to reach with demanding graphics...
So I think I'd agree with the rest on a faulty battery - or an OS calibration that is off.
Does the phone reboot if you turn it on after it has shut down?

(I easily get several hours worth out of my Z10 - a commute by train is really bad for the batzer, but the most I can use is around 35% during 2 hours of travel on bus, train and then walking... back on holiday in Germany a charge lasted for a whole day without issues.)

Could be the charger too. I kinda misplaced my Q5s charger for a few days so I used another charger a samsung. It charges too slow, like it takes 3 hours to fully charge and then it would be up for about 5 hours with data connection on. While when i'm using the original charger it takes about 8 or more hours to drain. And about an hour and a half to fully charge

thats definitely battery problem. I had unused brand new Z10, left with fully charged battery, after a week it was still on but with 3% battery left on idle.

Do you have battery guru? If so please post a screen shot of the battery drain. My Z10 lasts me the day. Sounds like a bad battery.
