Boom!!! This person got it. Happens to me every time when I was sweaty. I learned to face the screen outside of my leg.

Until you hit something with your leg and find out later that your phones screen sacrificed it self for your leg :P

Use a holster or a pouch. You shouldn't be putting your device directly in contact with your leg anyway (or that general area if you ever plan on having kids)...

Don't say it looks dumb, because that rigid rectangle in your pant pocket isn't that much better... lol

I always miss a call in when I put my phone into pocket.

    This is all very simple.....
    - Set your device to unlock by clicking the top button
    - Lock your device before it goes in your pocket

I have problem like your words. I hope in new OS 10.3 will fix it.

    Posted via CB10
No, the new OS won't fix it because it is not a problem, it's a feature that comes with the OS. You could try to contact blackberry to see if they could provide a solution to disable the function.

This is again probably a STL100-1 only problem.
When a phone rings, you can tap on anywhere on the screen to 'silence' the call rather than hitting the tiny 'mute' icon.

What I do now is keep the phone screen facing outside rather than facing my thighs when I keep the phone in my pocket.

Why not make a small pictogram to silence the call? Why use all screen?

What?!! STL100-1 has a lot of issues but this is not a STL100-1 issue, it's not even an issue in the first place

Is that a BlackBerry in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
    Sorry. I couldn't resist.
I haven't missed calls. Though I have had my phone reboot while it was in my pocket. I'm running 10.3. I'm using it as my daily driver. As for the OP issue, my solution would be to get a case with a holster. I like my Seido Active with holster.

I mean that I miss call in when my phone is in pocket. Because of taping screen to mute ring.

    Posted via CB10
Touching the screen only mutes the sound. You can still answer the call as normal.

Some kinds of fabric do mess up with the screen. I too suggest a OEM pocket case. Buy case = no more pocket madness + better battery life.

    Buy the case.

My pocket messes up the screen all the time. Pocket dialing, muting calls, restarts. What I found is the lock button doesn't work if you press it right after hanging up a call. The phone app won't allow the screen to lock for some reason within the first few seconds. When I press "end call" and then lock button right away...doesn't work. So when I'm rushing I think the screen is locked when it's not. BlackBerry has an issue of not being consistant. If they were, there would be a lot less users problems. And by consistant I mean by things like call confirm from the hub but not from the call history screen

Apparently I am now mounting my phone on a pole to keep it a minimum of 4 feet away from my body. Phone in pocket is no longer an issue... http://www.bbc.com/news/health-27767981

Happens to me too. There should be an option to keep it unmuted.
Also the volumebuttons mute the phone while recieving a call...

Hope BB will listen to customers and finally fix this really annoying "feature". Just because of this "feature" I'm thinking to change my phone. This happens on both Z30 and Q5.

10.3.1. Now has a tiny button you have to press to mute the call.
I freaking hate it. It was much better when you could tap anywhere on the screen

In Last leaked 821 and 938 ,you can stop ring by tap the "small" icon on display and/or pressing volume keys...I prefer this solution!

Always been able to mute a call or snooze an alarm via volume keys. That's my preferred manor of doing it. I don't tap the screen unless I need to dismiss an alarm completely.

it's not a feature it's a bug because there is reserved area for silencing ringer, but on STL100-1 you can silence ringer by touching screen anywhere. And it's annoying because sometime pocket fabric really mute ringer.
    10.3.1 didn't solve this issue.

I hope that 10.3.1 will bring a solution for this. For me, touching anywhere on the screen to mute the ring is annoying. I prefer a tiny button with this function. In fact is in off to touch the power button, no need of other option.
