I got bored again and wrote my own parser which extracts files from OS files - signed, autoloader, whatever. I tried mounting the filesystem direct on QNX but I was missing something and thought this method would just be easier.

Mainly the app files, not the core OS files. It's still pretty rough and needs some further polishing before I'll be willing to release it. And wouldn't you know it, all the files that you need to reconstruct BAR files exist within the OS. Reconstructing is a picky process though, the files have to be EXACT, no extra files, filenames exact, and so on.

So, to try it out, I extracted the new facebook app from the Q10 4285 OS (2 bar files that'll need Sachibar, DDPB, etc to sideload) Version: 10.1.0.88

Try at your own risk, and so on. Totally new technique to me so anyone who wants to test is welcome to. Please post results and I'll see what I can do.

I tried with a fresh 2354 OS autoloader on my Z10 (not the hybrid I kinda mashed together) and loaded just these 2 bar files. they work for me.

Link removed for Facebook. Official version from BlackBerry World is now newer.

Edited: Seriously, if you're still running 10.0.x dont even think of running these, they likely wont work at all
Also got Browser BAR 10.1.1.326 for the adventurous. (1Mb in size)

Wow. I expect BlackBerry to patch this if you release it....maybe you should keep it to yourself and remove some of the text describing its method of functioning from your original post?

I'm thinking something more like an autoloader patch if the OP is doing what I understand him to be doing

Facebook Bars are only 12.8MB in size

In the event of a failure, just delete facebook and reinstall from app world.

I'm not up to speed on the need for doing this? Is the fb app updated with some better features that have yet to be released?

Could be they require at least 10.1 to work. I'm on 10.1.0.2354 and they both loaded and run fine.
