Got the update yesterday on yes telecom (kpn) here in the Netherlands.

Loving it much! Response time is amazing, sometimes the gui had some delays on. 2941 but not anymore, really amazing. Way to go BlackBerry!

The update is to address an issue of when blackberry battery completely drained it wouldn't re-charge.

So it would be wise to install 10.2.1.2977 if you got 10.2.1.537 ?

If your current version works good for you, then keep on that version. If it's laggy, or your needing more ability within the OS, upgrading would be advisable- it is still required todo the update, as some updates within that contain security patches.

OTA updates should not be disregarded.

I would personally recommend updating to the newest version of any OS if given the opportunity. Updates offer fixes, patches and improvements (some are noticeable and some aren't, that still does not rule out there relevance / importance).

Allow the OS to settle first, and the performance should be good.

The updates are pushed out via carrier, nothing todo with shopblackberry. They release updates in waves, so you might need to wait abit longer.

    What browser issue?

I thought if your phone was bought unlocked from shopblackberry you get the updates right from BlackBerry's servers.

I don't know about the carriers but I received an update Version 10.2.1.2977 on 25th June & again 6th July on my Q10 SQN100-3 and it was purchased unlocked in UK during the early release but with Vodafone Australia sim. And Voda AU doesn't have BlackBerry 10 in their in line up of mobiles here, only Telstra & Optus.

See, I read if we got a phone directly from BlackBerry we would get updates faster. My phone has a very old 10.2.1 build over the aie

Carriers release the updates in bundles/waves, so not all devices update the exact same time, just so happens one phone was before the other one.

If you didn't have your sim in, I think you 'MIGHT', get updates directly from Blackberry, unsure. But either way, you can use an autoloader or something to update your OS if your phone doesn't update itself.

It does not work like that, your network needs to support the phone and version for you to get the update OTA. That's in my experience, I've gotten a sta 100-2 from my local carrier eventhough it's not the official one for my country -( sta 100-6). I've seen the update on the officially approved phones but not the one I have eventhough it's unlocked.

So either use a different sim card (which works for me-but I used an international one which already released the ota for the sta100-2 in a previous instance) or even easier thanks to thurask use the bar he gave the link to.

Nope I don't have it, though from what I've been told here, it's just a rebranded sta 100-2

Edit: I've actually checked on sachesi now and it seems as though my local carrier recently added the sta100-2 (as well as already having the sta 100-6) to its network..
