Doesn't look like any solution will be found is this 400 post thread huh? I figured someone would have an answer by now. Especially Wulf!

    What did I do?

I believe once 10.3.1 is official for the devices in question, should they continue to experience the issue, there is no reason an affected device cannot be sent it and officially be diagnosed and fixed.

Until then, it is all conjecture and experimentation.

I wish I had a better answer, but I truly believe the answer lies within the code itself (OS) and an issue with the "flags" being set or not overwritten or cleared as expected in the nvram, per earlier suggestions.

I still hold to the fact that certain nvram chips are misbehaving regardless of what the controller is telling them to do. Unless for some reason the code is excluding these particular devices for some reason, or is failing to execute properly because of said component flaws.

Unless you can find a magic combination of power offs, resets, running oobe, etc, I don't see it happening.

    Sorry.

We need 10.3.1 to go Gold and released OTA or via Link for this to be looked at further.

    Imho.

And it really stinks. I truly appreciate all the efforts and ideas put forth so far, and I thank the OP for your perseverance despite the obvious frustrations.

    Cheers

I have the same issue as the OP on my Q10
Unlocked Q10 which was an old ATT refurbished unit. Using it on Rogers in Canada. Looking forward to see what the solution is.
I have a lot contacts at BlackBerry including some on the BETA Team, I will reach out to them and see if they know about it.

I was freak out when it happened to me, but something is wrong here, did you tried this on your pc only and rebooted the pc on every change of autoloaders? Did you try it on another pc? Mine is windows 8.1 64bit latest everything and it worked. If your device is a Passport as mine is I'm gona try get the file that worked for me and shared via Mega for you to try. I check the site and the file is not the same I used, mine was older.

Can one of the experienced people give their opinion on whether the following is worthwhile :

    1. Use Sachesi to list the files currently on my Q10, which has the blue LED/10.3 settings wipe issue. Currently running official update 10.2.1.3062.
    2. Attempt a leak install by cfp nuke -a, then 1154 auto loader.
    3. Use Sachesi to list files at that point.
    4. Compare the lists from steps (1) and (3) with a Q10 which does not have the blue LED and can successfully load 10.3 leaks.

I have spent so many hours on this stuff, and also my work hours have been a bit crazy recently, so I honestly don't want to spend another minute on this unless there is a real possibility of it being helpful.

Additional info : my Q10 has been unlocked (officially, through O2, now has a Vodafone SIM) but the early digits of the IMEI are different from those mentioned earlier in the thread.

I can't believe we have no conclusion on what is happening here and we're over 400 posts in. Hopefully the official 10.3.1 update clears this issue up, but if the beta zone version has issues then I would guess it may not.

I guess the CrackBerry community can't fix everything.

OK. Trying to narrow down if it's hardware related or software (which I believe it is).

For those of you having the issue please do the following:

What is the model of your device? Example: Z10 STL100-4

Then open your browser and run the following:
    file:///pps/services/hw_info/inventory

Then take a screen shot (volume buttons up and down at the same time).

    Then post it here.

    Example from a Z30.

While it may be official (looks like it at this point), it's technically not official yet, nor official for anything but the Classic. Hate to be the voice of reason here along with rock star (ain't that crazy ), but I'm betting until it is, we're going to have the same results. I will hold out a tinge of optimism, if someone. can find the numbers for Sachesi download, specific to a blue light special phone.

Since we are about 2 months from the official release for Z and Q series we might see newer builds. BlackBerry might want to test on classic first and then fix/optimize before releasing to a bigger audience.

    A challenge to the techies.

As some of us know by visiting threads like the one here. We know that there are some people with Z10s and Q10s cannot update their OS to anything 10.3 or later and then there are others who cannot update past 10.3.1 or later. However the majority of these flawed devices cant install anything 10.3 or later so lets just stick to that.

So in case you have never heard of this issue of what I am referring to, let me get you up to speed. When installing an autoloader OR OTA with Sachesi, our phones do in fact accept the update. It is only upon reboot that everything is erased. When I say everything, I mean everything, all apps, settings, everything, it is fact a wiped phone upon reboot. All of us also have a blue light instead of the usual red with these phone upon booting up.

The only OS that works are the Developers SDK of 10.3 or 10.3.1. There are no autoloaders out there or anything anywhere that have worked with these phones. The OS just does not stick.

We have all nuked, we have all done the Sic wiped, and there is nothing that has not been done to try to resolve this issue. We are now looking for things that we havent tried. There are just so many people experiencing this problem and multiple threads and forums on this issue as well. All ending with how frustrated they are in not being able to have anything 10.3 and above. We all have had to revert back to 10.2.

Which at least for me, after seeing 10.3.1 is excruciating to revert back to.

So now here I am asking or begging anyone to help us resolve this issue.

    I personally have the STL100-3 T-Mobile.

So here it is The Challenge
Very interesting. I will review the thread for more details, but I had no issues with any leaks on my z10. I used an autoloader and a clean install for all of them except 10.3.1.1154, which I blitzed with no issues. I have the 100-3 as well I think, but will check.

    FWIW......

First of all, guilty admission - anyone who does a lot of troubleshooting knows that a key ingredient is REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID. You can't troubleshoot if you aren't precise about your actions. So, to an extent, this info is a waste of time. In my defense, I had some proper spare time yesterday for the first time in almost two weeks, but had to spend it doing multiple things at once.....

So, as I recall , I did a cfp nuke -a, followed by an autoload of 1151. I immediately ran the Setup using oobe://, then did a non-destructive Sachesi update to 1154 with the "Only install newer apps" box ticked. I think I then did the oobe:// setup again at this point. I then installed a couple of my personal Apps. Instead of restarting normally, I think I pulled the battery at this point.

When the phone rebooted my personal settings were still there - this is the first time in any 10.3 leak attempt that this has happened. I either loaded a few more personal settings or simply did a restart, and again the settings remained. Unfortunately when I went into Link to get my contacts back, the tab displayed a curious message in yellow "Your software version does not support sync of contacts" or something similar. I downloaded Blend to see if I could get contacts that way but it quickly told me "Your device is not supported" (Q10). I don't recall what I did next, the important thing is that following a couple of further restarts the personal settings vanished as they have been doing in 10.3 leaks for several months now.

Aside from a brief burst of hope (more than equalled by a mighty kick in the groin when the settings vanished), the main positive thing to come out of this was something I noticed on Blackberry Link. When I have previously installed 10.3 leaks, I noticed it always said "Software Release 10.3.1.1151" (or whatever one it happened to be) but the "OS Version" always said "No Information". However, during the short time my 10.3 leak was working, this page in Link displayed "OS Version 1.0.0.0". And, bizarrely, although I was supposedly running 10.3.1.1154, Link was showing a "Software Update" available - for 10.2.1.3062!

I hope the above information may be useful to those with the knowledge level to potentially work this out.

NOTE: To my fellow sufferers of the blue LED - record your steps! You should probably just write them down during troubleshooting. Given how demoralising this whole blue LED business has been, I definitely can't recommend you try any of what I did. I can only say that this is the closest I have ever come to getting a 10.3 leak to work.

I'm pretty good with computers but I only recently started messing around with my Q10 - my gut feeling has always been that this is a software issue caused by something out of the ordinary that occurred when I started trying to install leaks. Of course, this doesn't rule out a hardware issue, in that there may be something all blue LED handsets have in common which then causes a software issue during an attempted leak install....

I hope this is helpful to someone out there.
