    For those of you who have followed BB10 development you will know that something is up.

    For a long time, we have had the ability to scan various BlackBerry servers to identify BB10 builds that are under development. We mostly can't download the builds that we see but we know they are out there.

    Something appears to be different now. Back in June, BlackBerry confirmed that 10.3.3 is under development. But, while it is under development, there is no sign of it at all on BlackBerry's servers.

    This is unusual. It has never happened before as far as I can remember.

    We have a mystery on our hands.

    Does anyone have any insight or speculation about how to account for this?

    I'm stumped.

    Have you polled the servers for OS 10.4? BB may have renamed 10.3.3 into 10.4...10-4??

    Being able to scan Blackberry server does not sound secure. Sounds like a security issue, maybe their servers are as secure as the phones.

    1. The BB developer website has no information with regard to 10.3.3 or higher.
    2. The BB developer website has not added anything to the timeline in many months.
    3. As noted there is no server activity reflecting anything higher than 10.3.2.
    4. Not a single spotted website analytic showing an OS higher than 10.3.2.
    5. BB has posted net losses for more than 10 straight quarters.
    6. BB has laid off employees in both hardware and now software development.

    To me, the logical conclusion is that BB10 development has ceased at 10.3.2. It is a sad thought, but there it is...

    Who really knows? The leaks started and for awhile were very active. So, I'm never surprised when the OS drip stops. As stated, BlackBerry has had numeral losses in previous quarters. May not be a factor for the leaks. But, you have to wonder just how long can BlackBerry sustain continual losses......every quarter. No gloom/doom predictions here and still hoping for a turn around at some point before it's too late.

    Short answer is No. BB is sill selling hardware and software and services. However, they are losing money in those areas. BB continues to restructure its debt, sell assets like real estate (which also provides large gains on paper by playing with depreciation), and cut staffing. This can look on paper like BB is making money if you do not read audited financials closely. The harsh truth is there is good reason BB is selling below $8 per share on US markets. Sales have gotten slower every year since 2009 and market share has shrunk every year since 2009. Enterprise users did not adopt BES12 at even half the expected rate. Same is true for BBM services like video calling and secure BBM - - they just got no traction. The latest legal industry tech reviews generally call for ending BB support by 2017. In short, no they are not making money, they are staying afloat by selling assets not merchandise.

    Well we didn't see 10.3.2 until the 10.3.1 builds started to drop off didn't we?
    10.3.2 builds are still going, we'll probably start to see 10.3.3 in a few months or less

    I've seen it. And I heard that Chen said similar one time. It is one line and there is nothing to indicate that it is true and accurate. Like I said, I may be wrong about the development. It could be going on in unprecedented secret. But I look to actual known facts and history, which tells me that there is not current development beyond 10.3.2. Someone's site analytics would pick up if the browser from the OS visited. The timeline would not be blank for the first time since BB10.0 development started. The development servers would show the OS being developed. I will not rehash all the things BB has said were going on, or would happen that didn't.

    10.3.2.2339 sucks for me on the Passport. Delays when swiping/clicking to wake and camera focus still an issue. Tried security wipe and everything but still messed.

    I'm checking everyday for a new leak but this forum has really gotten eerie and quiet.

    I remember around the launch of 10.3.1, Chen said that "we are working on something but I can't tell you or my engineers would kill me" jokingly (rough quotation) so it's obvious that they've been working on something big and keeping it very quiet. I'd say blackberry have got themselves a damn good plumber in the form of a hidden server.

    I personally don't buy into these android talks as in my mind it's useless without Google play and by securing android they'd have to make big changes to the OS. We must also take into account how long bb10 has been in development and that it has taken them this long to get it to the high standard that it is currently. It would seem very unlikely and erratic for them to ditch bb10 in favour of a new project considering the fact that the handset division is a sideline for them at this point. I do however buy into the hypervisor concept.

    I keep my theory. It's useless for BlackBerry to update the development page if their APIS are in flux, since I'm betting on a full Qt 5 migration for BlackBerry 10 + the virtualization theory.

    Also, as I said before somewhere else:

    SQW100 = Smartphone QWERTY Windermere 10.0 (Passport)
    STV100 = Smartphone Touchscreen Venice 10.0 ("Slider")

    No, you are not getting an Android Slider.

    They will need a recompile and some porting, but they will mostly work. If BlackBerry ports the rest of Cascades, they will work unmodified (Cascades is modeled after QML2), but they will still need a recompile.

    Some say that 10.3.3 will provide Google play services and will run the hybrid Android OS.

    So maybe we are looking in the wrong place? Maybe there is a Android OS Server for all the 10.3.3+ stuff and the normal BlackBerry 10 server holds the 10.3.2 builds?

    Just a thought
