There is a lot of debate about non-destructive updates vs. autoloaders. Something that has come up is that many recommend autoloading because it is a 'cleaner' install that leaves less baggage behind from previous updates. I typically update with Sachesi non-destrucively (not only because AT&T stinks for updates) but because I worry about losing data by autoloading and restoring. My question is about the 'Only Install Newer Apps' checkbox in Sachesi. If I uncheck this box, does it function more like an autoloader, with a 'cleaner' install since it is re-installing everything with less baggage left behind? Or, am I just wasting precious time that will never come back to me? In other words, if I install all the apps instead of just the newer ones, does it result in a better functioning update or is it a pointless exercise?

In a debrick OS you have about 200 app bars. When you check only install newer apps then sachesi skip all the files that are the same in your current OS and install only the newer ones.

Thanks Chris. That would make sense since the checkbox is labeled, "Only Install Newer Apps". Anyone else have any thoughts concerning my original question?

No advantage to unchecking the box. The result would not be any "cleaner". App and OS settings are located elsewhere - which are the culprits.

Don't think will see a difference installing all apps rather than new only. No, not considered cleaner install.

Thanks Conite! That's what I was wondering. Now if I could only get back all those wasted hours...

Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of this foolish, "Crackberry Newbie" designation.

You can downgrade if you run an autoloader.

A bit off topic, but you'll really have to run an autoloader. Not sure why you'd want to live in the past. If you're having problems on 10.3.1, try a security wipe first and see if the OS is any better. It's worth a shot, since going back will be destructive anyway.
