For some reason I can't share contact information anymore. Not sure why. My friend is also using a Z30 with same OS no it works fine for him. Whenever I try to share it says "this contacts data cannot be shared". Has anyone experienced this or know the cause?

Sounds like an OS issue. Try a reinstall or rollback to official.

Is the contact located in the Work Area or is just a plain device with no BES connection?

I have the same problem, I can not share contacts of bblink accounts, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, however I can share local contacts, BBM and Skype perfectly. This problem started with 10.3.1.1151 and continues 10.3.1.1154

I've had the same issue - also with latest 10.3.1 available this week. 10.3.0 works fine when I roll back to those versions. Not using BES

Similar problem on Z10. Can't share contacts. Happened before when I had official OS on and had something to do with one of the linked contacts. Will have to play with it again and see.

Has anyone figured this out? I just updated to the newest OS 2072 and it still won't let me share contacts. I've tried sharing contacts with and without other linked contacts and none can be shared.

It appears that certain types of contacts can not be shared in 10.3.1.xxxx, so far. I am unable to share any of my contacts and I sync them via Link with my Outlook, so these are BBLink contacts. Others, who use local contacts only, did not experience this.

So I assume, it is a bug that will be fixed in future releases. But it is a very important feature.

Thanks, I also link my contacts with Outlook so that is why I'm having the problem. This is a serious problem as I use it all of the time (not anymore though) .

Looks like the only Outlook contacts that can be shared are with phone numbers only - anything more and can't share.

I had to upgrade to SR 10.3.2.2226 OS 10.3.2.2339 for the contact sharing to work again. So happy it is working

My theory about the contacts sharing issue : every time you sync your contacts database with some other (eg, Outlook, Google etc), there is an element of potential for some corruption of the database, because no two contacts management programs are exactly alike. Corruption would not necessarily become immediately evident, but its existence makes it more difficult for the device's BB Contacts app to function properly, hence the contacts sharing issues. Good to see that BB have put some time into making the contacts app more versatile and reliable in recent builds.

I originally resolved my contacts sharing issues during the 10.3.1.xxxx variants by exporting them all to a basic format csv file, which I then checked for integrity, just to make sure the data was good. Then I deleted all contacts, and accounts (email, FB, etc) from my device. After that, I started by switching auto-merge off, and then importing the csv file into the device's contacts app database. I then added my various accounts back to the device - no more contacts sharing issues.
