    v1.6.2 released for Windows
When I try to launch v1.6.2 on my WinXP (32), I get "Sachesi.exe is not a valid Win32 application." (v1.6.1.1 starts ok.)

    Any errors?
Having examined (with Dependency Walker) Sachesi.exe, I have more or less concluded that Microsoft is to blame . . .

32-bit application fails to start after 8.1 upgrade, gives error - Microsoft Community

windows - c++/cli DLL fails under Win 8.1 - Stack Overflow

Ditto . . . Sachesi.exe contained in Sachesi-1.6.0-Win, Sachesi-1.6.1-Win, and Sachesi-1.6.1.1-Windows start normally on Windows XP (32 bit), while Sachesi.exe contained in Sachesi-1.6.2-Windows fails to start on Windows XP (32 bit).

This is bizarre. I used msvc 2013 and it doesn't work on Windows 8.1? They have dropped 32-bit support or something?
*Sigh*! Back to MinGW I suppose!

By the way, if you install the x86 version of msvc 2013 redistributable, does it work all of the sudden?

radio firmware update stuck at 50%... for 30 minutes now...
50% means waiting for device to respond.

This is really stupid, but what do I need to do??? It just shows the BB seeds.

I haven't come across a situation like that before so I assume the device stalled or lost communciation.
Just pull the cord and try again. The update will be cancelled and you can start it again.

I have installed, UNinstalled, and REinstalled in vain vcredist_x86.exe (12.0.21005.1) as well as vcredist_x64.exe (12.0.21005.1) several times on Winsows 8.1. I have even copied MSVC run time .dll files to the same directory where Sachesi.exe 1.6.2 is located, which did not solve such a persistent problem.

Meanwhile, Dependency Walker is pointing to MSVCRT.DLL which comes with Windows 7 and MSVCRT.DLL which comes with Windows 8.1 . . . I wonder why it is NOT pointing to MSVC run time 12.0.

Silly thing is that the MSVCRT is built-in. So you shouldn't require anything. I compiled everything static.

Anyway, I'll release v1.7.0 soon and I will stick to MinGW.

This thing is driving me crazy. I've rebooted my PC, completely disabled anti-virus, rebooted BB, now when I drop the radio bar file in sachesi it doesn't show the GUI, only "Installing : 10.3.0.1155" then "Installing 1 .bar(s)." BB has shown 0% Complete for 30 minutes.

Think it might be better to hit the wipe and use autoloader???

Is this a company phone that has a block_install policy? If so, you can't install anything on it as of OS 10.2.
I don't know how to detect the policies so it will silently fail sorry!

This is usually the situation if your phone does not get past either 0% or 50% on ANY app.

It's not a company phone... should not have any type of policies on it. NEVER been on a BES.

Build autoloader with Core OS and Radio. It shouldn't wipe anything (only if you have 10.3.0.1052 to avoid Android Runtime corruption and some other bugs)

Where's the autoloader option? - nevermind

update: after another hour or so of messing with this, I had to do the destructive method.

Good news is that Verizon Mobile Hotspot works!

Get "program too big to fit into memory". The program is 396MB and I have a bit over 1.5GB free memory.

With 1.7.0 I get "Can't find entry point to procedure strnlen in library msvcrt.dll" or something like it... the older version giave something similar.... any ideas?

    Keep up the awesome work...

+1 for 1.7.0 working on Windows 8.1 (64-bit). Now to load 1154 and see if that works.

Also 1.6.2 worked as well without crashing.

Perhaps it will not solve your problem but please try reinstalling Visual C++ Redistributable Minimum Runtime on Windows XP.

Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download Center

Oh indeed, it's an issue with the included runtime in Windows XP. Updating the runtime should fix it.
