The good news is that 'Connect to Windows' appears to work in Linux (as well as 'Connect to Mac') now.
This has always worked for me (at least as of version 1.4 which I'm currently using)

Just used 1.6.1.1 on my Win 8.1 machine to load Core 1154 onto my Z30. Went well. This is the first time I have successfully used a Sachesi later than 1.2.1 (of course I have not tried ALL the later Sachesi builds). Many previous versions failed, and I mostly stopped trying, but this one seems to have come a long way, and I have been reading in this forum about all the work that is being put into solving the issues. I have used this product many times. Much appreciated - time to donate.

Edit: and now just used it for Radio 1155 :-)

Well not sure if it had been covered, this tread is just too long. My Z10 running 10.3.0.1130 does not want to connect to Sachesi. It connects no problem to the newest version of Link. I tried different versions of Sachesi (1.2.1,- 1.5.0.1, and the newest 1.6.1) all just come with Searching for USB device. My computer is WIN 7 64bit.and the phone storage is correctly mapped as drives Z and Y as usual. The last time I used Sachesi was to install 1130 onto my phone. Any idea what is happening?
One thing I might add is that after installing 1130 I never used version 1.5.0.2 again. Today I found out about the new version 1.6.1 and downloaded and tried to run it. It did not work. I tried then all other versions of Sachesi which had previously worked and all came with the same message "Searching for USB device" and did not connect.
I wonder if version 1.6.1 changed anything on the computer that prevents the other versions to function?
Try going to System Settings->Storage and Access and set the USB Connection to: Connect to Windows.

Installed 10.3.0.1052 on Q10 using autoloader a few days ago.

Today, trying to upgrade using Sachesi 1.6.1.1 (dpwm;oaded an hour or so ago) on iMac, able to load radio.

But then trying to load OS, the log reads:

Pulled the battery before the last try with OS.

Now, the radio shows as 1155 on the device, but as 1053 on Sachesi: Install: Apps

Tried again with OS and with both all bars, and a limited number of them.
Only item that may have some bearing is Blend will come up on the Q10...and just before that, a comment that the device is connected to a compter.

The log from these last few attempts is

now, OS version on device shows as 1154
    Radio version shows as 1155
But on Sachesi, they show as 1152 and 1155

    Pulled battery one last time,
    Deice came up with screen,
    Installing BlackBerry Blend
with some instructions that don't work yet.

    Clicked Dismiss
    Pulled USB cord, restores
Then BlackBerry CD came up on the iMac
    with two files
    Readme, about Link 1.2
    Start.dmg

The Start.dmg is BlackBerry Blend Setup

    Selected Install Drivers Only
    Successful
    BlackBerry Device Manager was installed

Well, guess that will (and has been) cause(ing) issues with Device communicating with Sachesi.

Will try with another PC or Mac tomorrow.

BTW, what does a check in the box before one of the .bar files (in the Sachesi: Install: Apps screen) do?

If it keeps asking to install Blackberry Blend, you need to change Storage mode to 'Mac' in Settings. It's trying to install drivers.
Checkbox on apps is for uninstall option on the left.

I just started using sachesi (successful upgrade to 10.3.0.1154 from .1130 w/ .1154 apps). Previously i have been using only autoloaders. I want to upgrade my fiance's Z10 to 10.3 but she doesn't want to lose her Clash of clans data like i did (I backed up app data via Link, used auto loader was not able to restore app data only for CoC). I was wondering if i can use Sachesi to upgrade directly from 10.2.1.2141 to 10.3.0.1154 using the tool or would i have to go though a series of upgrades? Or do i have to use an autoloader to make the jump?? Any help is always super appreciated.

Also i would like to start helping out around here and make some autoloaders. When building the autoloader in sachesi do i only need the core OS and radio files? what about the apps, what do i do with them? Are there any tutorials on building an autoloader?

Installed MSVC2013 and tried again but still crashes on launch.
It's a Windows error -- Windows thinks it can't find that file. Try putting that DLL in the same directory as Sachesi.
I have similar problem, but mine is asking for MSVCP120.dll

Grab Public Links and No Links Available buttons have made it clear that certain Software Release numbers exist without corresponding OS files nor Radio files, I suppose.
May I ask if Sachesi.exe chooses to display a Grab Public Links or No Links Available button based on the availability of debrick OS or core OS for BlackBerry Passport?

The debrick OS 10.3.0.1172 and the core OS 10.3.0.1172 exist for BlackBerry Passport with NO corresponding radio, while OS 10.3.0.1172 and radio 10.3.0.1173 files do not exist for Q5, Q10, Z3, Z10, and Z30.

I mean there is two versions of 1.6.1.1 I have posted up for testing.
Normal one (thought to be working fine):
    MSVC2013 experiment:
On Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and Windows 7 (32 bit) the MSVC2013 version complains as follows.

Sachesi: Firmware Extractor, Searcher and Installer-error0.png

Adding \platforms\qwindows.dll did not solve the problem.

Perhaps you had better reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable Minimum Runtime.

It is based on the availability of any OS. It checks if the directory exists only.

Look like my PaX-enabled kernel doesn't like Sachesi. It's keep popping error about Sachesi writing to an anonymous mapping, walked around the error by setting PaX flags, but It crash with an error saying Mesa was failed to draw shader. I have to run Sachesi as root for it to work
. Before using PaX, Sachesi ran fine as normal user. Is there a solution to fix this?

P/s: I am running Arch Linux x86_64 using -grsec kernel, Sachesi compiled with clang-libc++ linked with Qt5

I don't have any experience with -grsec or PaX kernel. I can only guess that one of the third-party libraries used has some issues with it? If you can tell me when this write error appears, I might be able to track it down. It's most likely QuaZip or Qt causing the issue.

Edit: So I did some quick research. PaX does not allow dynamic recompilers from what I can understand. However, Javascript engines (like in web browsers) require dynamic recompilation to get any decent speed out of Javascript. The Qt UI used is written in QML, which uses a dynarec Javascript engine.

As for the Mesa error, you only need OpenGL 2.0 or GLES 2.0 which should be fine. You should be able to use software Mesa as well if hardware is causing any issue. LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 ./Sachesi
    See: http://www.mesa3d.org/envvars.html

If PaX flags were set, it will make an exception for flagged binary and allowing JIT compilers. I'm going to check if software Mesa works or not when I get back to my PC. And btw, does Sachesi need access to special filesystem (eg. /sys or /proc) because I'm applying some restrictions on these folders?

For the bootloader code, I believe libusb will use udev. So that would require /dev
You can undefine BOOTLOADER_ACCESS to remove that requirement.

Lol, I can't restrict /dev or my system won't boot at all and no sound too (no access to /dev/snd). Thanks anyway

Thanks. Just a few notes: It doesn't depend on quazip right now (it will use the built-in one). Did you want me to change that?
Also, I noticed it has depends: qt5-quickcontrols... but what about quickdialogs and quicklayouts? Also quicksettings. Not sure if they are included in any of those other packages.

I've patched the source to use system quazip instead. A quick grep shows that they didn't include quicksettings, quickdialogs and quicklayouts. And can you update the built in lzo? I've tried to link with system lzo, but look like the lzo1x functions have changed. Now they required 5 parameters instead of 4

Arch is too bleeding edge so they're now using LZO 2.08. However, there is still an version of lzo1x header in lzo v2. Here is the new file (got the content though preprocessing an dummy file so there maybe some unnessary content inside)

I have updated it to LZO2 API. Not sure why the last value (which isn't used) wasn't just an optional argument.
I didn't want to bring in the new lzo2 because it doesn't seem to offer anything new actually but it is about 10x larger.

I have also got shared_quazip and shared_lzo2 options now.
So you should be able to use: qmake "CONFIG+=shared_quazip shared_lzo2" && make -j 4

With using the autoloader, it changed USB Connection to Autodetect [in Storage and Access section)
I changed ti to Connect to Mac, but still had a problem.

Then changed it to Connect to Windows and used a Windows PC, with Sachesi Windows 1.6.1.1
Sachesi loaded up the Q10 very nicely...no problem connecting PC - Q10.

BTW, when I connected to the PC, the Install tab Apps showed that the new radio was in the device...hadn't shown when connected to the Mac earlier.
