I opened Link & did a full back-up, closed Link & then tried to run sachesi. It wouldn't open until I unplugged my phone from the USB. Is that normal? After I ran sachesi, I put in my country code: 311, my network code: 480 (VZW 4GLTE) & put in my device: Z10 QCOMM & clicked search. At that point, sachesi closed. Each time I tried it again, same result.

Does anyone notice something that I'm doing wrong that I'm overlooking?

I have VZW on my phone also. Searching for updates from VZW won't find anything, since VZW only sends updates once or twice a year. What you should do is search on a different carrier who has already put out the update you want, like Vodafon in the UK or Rogers or Telus in Canada. Also, even though your VZW device is 100-2, plug 100-3 or -4 or -5 into Sachesi, to see what the non-VZW carriers have available.

NB: Do not search for the Z10 using 100-1 if you have a 100-2 device. the Z10 100-1 radio is different and won't work for you. However the 100-3, 4, & 5 all use the same radio as the 100-2, and you can safely use Sachesi to install OS updates found for those models.

Good point regarding the lack of VZW updates... which is the entire point of going the sachesi route in the first place.

My problem, I'm afraid, runs a little deeper than that though. Any combination of country code, carrier, device ends in the same result: sachesi closing. Furthermore, each time I click basically anything on any of the other tabs: sachesi closes.

Assuming you already have the latest version of BB Link installed, the only other thing I can think of is a conflict with something else running on your PC while Sachesi is active. Make sure all other applications are closed before you start Sachesi. Also, your antivirus software could be the culprit too. Try disabling it while you are using Sachesi (remember to re-enable it afterwards).

Same exact thing happens to me. The latest one will not search for an os. It just crashes. I still have a copy two versions older and it works fine. Something isn't quite right with the newest one. On the other hand the older one disconnected midway through an os update while the new one made it all the way through.

Thanks for the advice. I'll make sure to close everything else & disable my anti-virus as well.

Along with sachesi crashing, could those same problems be the reason why it won't open while my phone is connected to the USB? I mean, my phone being connected seems to be a rather crucial step in the process.

It shouldn't matter if your phone is connected to USB or not, just to search with Sachesi, as long as you know what parameters to search for (phone model, carrier code etc).

To install to your device what you have already downloaded to your PC, then definitely you must first connect your device to USB and make sure Sachesi recognises it. (Tip: Before opening Sachesi, connect your phone to USB, make sure BBLINK can connect to your phone first, then close BBLINK.)

Im updating about 100 bb z10 for a new deployment. I have been using this program and it is awesome. Anyway sometimes when I update these phones they still say 10.1 but the about phone moves to the bottom. Sometimes a reboot corrects it. other times I have to do a factory reset, which takes FOREVER. any tips on correcting this? also I would like to skip the setup but I cant push the update then. these phones are not activated either.

As a side note my crash on search with 1.2.3 occurs on both my windows 7 and windows 8.1 install in my laptop. Meanwhile 1.2.1 seems to search fine except for the 10.2.1.3247 radio file for the Z10 stl100-3 but that might just be because the radio is 3140 from what I've gathered and you might have fixed it.

And of course I think there's a long deserved thank you I have to deliver. This tool is absolutely awesome.

    Thanks

I haven't tracked down this crash in 1.2.3 yet because it doesn't happen on my system. I want to release a 1.2.4 soon but I'm thinking it will likely have the exact same issue.

Xsacha, I have put up a copy of 1.2.1. You might want to add it to the OP until the problem gets corrected?

Is compiling in debug as easy as flipping a switch? I'd give it a go, just need to find some time to set up the compiler and all. It's not on my laptop and I'm not home. I'm assuming all the details are in the source? Just in case what compiler do you use?

Edit: Unless you mean debug as in step through o.O which I could do but may need a few details when I get around to it.

I found the sachesi 1.2.3 crash issue was actually caused by the unstable of Blackberry Link (version 123_b046). Upgrade your Blackberry link to the latest version: 123_b055_multilanguage, which was released on July 3rd, it should fix the sachesi crash issue.

Every DL I have tried for 2 days now has gotten a server or Internet connection is interrupted. Start a new DL and part way thru it stops DL. Anyone tell me how many different files are suppose to be in sachesi when you get ready to install?

My BlackBerry Link is updated and Sachesi 1.2.3 is crashing. Prior to updating link on July it was working fine. 1.2.1 is working fine.

I will be releasing a 1.3.0 Sachesi shortly.

The reason for the update is that backups with files > 4GB now work in the latest git.

    Hi all,

Whenever I go to extract Sachesi from the download, I get an error message that no disk can be found in the drive, please install a disk in to the drive. I am confused, because the download is a standard zip file, I assume, and double clicking on the .exe zipped file should just extract it but I keep getting that error message. I have tried to redownload it several times and the same result occurs. Any of you tech savvy guys know what the problem might be?

John, if you read the original post, version 1.2.1 is the most stable release, and newer version may be broken on windows. I have used 1.2.1 many times, no failure. I will merge you with the original thread and you can carry on discussing there.

I've had great issues getting the OSX install in Virtualbox or VMWare to work unfortunately.
I had it installed and working and was just compiling Sachesi when it froze and I was forced to reset the virtual machine. Now it doesn't boot up with some hard-to-see error message on a virtual terminal.
I will try again with a fresh image again. I've had 10.8 working before but am trying a 10.9 image.
