There's only a few things I want badly on 10.2, the full screen browser is one of them.

Now, you can bring it to 10.1 by install the attached files, tested on 10.1 4780 and 4828,only one issue so far, can't download or save image with it

    10.2browser.zip

and you can always restore your browser to 10.1 by installing those 4780backup files

    4780backup.zip

    Thanks!!!

I don't know why you'd want to do that -- the 10.2 browser is, IMHO, badly broken compared to the 10.1 version.

This is something that I like. 10.1 has wifi calling for my q10 and I prefer the 10.2 browser.

Going to give this a try

My 10.1 browser is broken so I mainly use my side loaded 10.2.0.18 browser to browse and the regular one to download images if necessary

Will be replacing my .18 with this one for sure!

The browser app is just a frontend. The webkit and javascript engine (things that affect performance and compatibility) are in the Core OS and can't be sideloaded as an app.

So apart from full screen, this won't help too much. It may perform worse than the real 10.2 OS.

Try entering text into a texbox on a web form or browing something with a tabular layout (e.g. a forum on the web); the 10.2 OS tries to dynamically resize fonts, blows it badly, and winds up totally screwing up the page layout. The option to MANUALLY default font sizes has also been removed (it was present in 10.0 and 10.1) which means you can't do anything about it either.

Here's one example of it -- try reading the bottom two replies without zooming in and scrolling around....

Sure; browse around Top Level - MarketTicker Forums

You'll see the problem immediately -- it's unique to 10.2 BB10 devices too. I've yet to find the magic elixer that puts a stop to it other than hardcoding font sizes (rather than using relative specifications) which is a big no-no since dot pitch varies between various devices and hard-coding font sizes means your displayed text size depends on the dot pitch of the display and the user can't override it locally on his device!

It's even worse if you try to type in a text box -- the phone defaults the font to a huge size which doesn't remain within the boundaries of the box!

    Run 10.2 browser on 10.1 OS?-img_00000546.png

it's fine on mine, I think xacha is right, it's not a real 10.2 browser, just a shell with full screen view and 10.1 core inside.

You're running the 10.2 "browser" on top of 10.1?

Great -- then the problem is in the 10.2 core which means it can't be sideloaded around.

    Barf.

i sideloaded the browser and hotspot browser bar files from 10.2 to 10.1 OS, got the full screen view like my screenshot, and lost the ability to download

Gotcha. Then the problem is in the base OS code and not the browser .BAR file.

I thought that was a problem with the website, but he's got a point it's really annoying especially for me because I'm always on forums
