I do clearly undestand that BlackBerry wants to make more money from existing users, but what I do not want to understand is why to do that in so disrespectful way. I mean why do I need to buy a new device while mine current one can still run new OS versions and everybody knows that? They are not going to add new features which require new hardware capabilities, it would be only maintenance OS release. BlackBerry should motivate users to buy new phones simply by releasing those new phones. Just look like Apple does.

Buy a new one? Or wait for someone in the leaked/beta section of this forum to post a Z10/Z30 optimized build? Don't say it's impossible 'cause there's also leaks sometimes (esp. right after leaking) that aren't leaked for the Passport but there's always someone making it ready for the Passport anyway.
If BlackBerry wants to make a device EOL, they can do it either actively (by adjusting hardware authentication in new OS core) or passively (by not providing a new radio).

There is no way around either.

As long as the devices work flawlessly and that we get a sort of maintainance update, I have no problem with that. The hardware does not upgrade. The software is okay. I hope they still correct some flaws like Contacts and crashing Calendar.
I am satisfied with the update since it solved the double typing.
As long as my Passports works, I'd keep it for work.
I am considering to move to the Slider, for my freetime.

Hmm are you sure you're aware of the discharging issue for some OS. don't remember but for some OS it will discharge and not charge again. There's a workaround as I remember. having two batteries for every Z10 is a requirement more than an option otherwise great phone

The picture from OP mentions a potential new device so if true it's great rather than sad news. Hope we'll get an all touch. That said I'd probably put my money on 10.3.4 being EOL since Chen has already mentioned that. But I don't think the Priv will sell so I think that BB10 hardware will somehow continue. Chen want's costumers to move to BlackBerry but what he want's and what he gets are two different things. Look at how he constantly keeps the door open while trying to slam it.

Frankly, the larger question is what plans BlackBerry has for a 10.3.4 or a 10.4 release that'll prompt me to consider a new BB10 device. Either that, or new BB10 hardware. And, so far, there is no information about either.

Sounds good,.. mine where all Verizon Z10s so who knows. I guess at some point we accept that, if it's working fine for you three years later,.. then BlackBerry has delivered on their end of the deal.

I fully expect the Z-10 and Z-30 to EOL on new releases at some point, and this may be the point. The Classic is the thorn in the side; if the requirement for BB10 going forward for decent performance (assuming they don't kill it entirely) is 3Gb of RAM, then the Classic (and Leap) are in trouble; only the Passport meets that criteria.

We shall see..... but the fact that the primary difference between the Classic and Z10 (for example) is the radio file means that continuing to support the older devices is "cheap" in terms of manpower.

Think I'll stock up some Q10s and Z10s. Both are the best phones I've ever used since forever. Classic is tempting, but the Q10 really trumps it. Z30? Naah.

Wonder what new BB10 device they're going to make next. I won't be getting Priv for sure.

10.3.3 will be the last update for those devices... so what's wrong with that? Those devices function quite well already and BlackBerry won't be making huge updates to BlackBerry 10, so you won't be missing out on much.

I read on the Internet that next month BlackBerry is going to nuke all BB10 devices so we'll have to buy new ones.
But then again that's just speculation.

I do clearly understand that BlackBerry wants to make more money from existing users..
BlackBerry's main business now is device management and security based software and services. That's mainly where it's trying to make more money. It will continue to make devices to support that business, but only if the device business is profitable.

why do I need to buy a new device while mine current one can still run new OS versions and everybody knows that?
You don't need to buy a new device unless you want to. You can keep using your current device until you decide not to.

BlackBerry is releasing a new phone. It's called the Priv and a lot of BB10 and Android users are motivated to buy it.

Edit: And yes, BB10 is reaching end of life because sales of BlackBerry 10 devices have declined to the point where it it no longer sustainable. BlackBerry is moving to the Android OS as a way to stay in the hardware business.
