My eventful story over the past 2 days.

Blackberry Link hadn't worked since upgrading to Windows 8.1 in November.
Last night I thought it would be fun to try BB OS 10.3 with no backups.
I lost everything of course, and then had problems with each version of 10.3 I tried.

Link was then ABLE to work with BBOS 10.3. So I made a backup of everything after I installed some apps.

I had issues with every version of 10.3 I tried. Some were missing the file manager. Others couldn't send SMS. Others combined live search with the search assistant, which didn't work to find files or as a search assistant.

Link then somehow changed its "return to factory settings" to restoring to the first 10.3 I tried, instead of what actually came on my phone. I'm not sure how that happened.

I found a 10.2.xx autoloader, ran it and my phone then looked as it did when I bought it.
I found an SMS backup from 7-2014. It's better than nothing I suppose.

Link was able to restore some apps to 10.2,.xx, but none of the contacts that I added. 10.2 is readable by Link once again.

I still haven't decided whether this entire process of losing 20,000 texts to test out 3 failed operating systems, but to get Link working again was worth it or not.

Side note: If there's a secret way of recovering what was lost, I may have to marry you. AT&T and Blackberry both said that I cannot recover what was lost. Blackberry Protect was not enabled.

    Link is a POS.

I always use 3rd party apps to back up anything that is important.

Not sure what OP used to install 10.3, but it seems like it was installed OTA, probably the cause of all the issues that are unheard of

I was using autoloaders that were shared with me in my trouble with Link thread.

Now back with 10.2, none of my Android software is installing or opening.

Would someone suggest a stable version of 10.3 for the Q10? Thanks a ton.

10.3.2.500 is quite stable. But you can't downgrade after loading that OS (OTA update in the future still possible)

I had before 10.3.2.500, but I don't think the inbox worked. I couldn't compose new messages or reply to old ones.

    I also tried:
10.3.2.0283 - Didn't realize it was for developers and it was missing stuff.

    10.3.0.1418 - I don't remember what didn't work.

Since you tried 10.3.2.500 there are no 10.3.1 operating systems that will install. Sorry it is eight 10.2 or 10.3.2 from now on unless BlackBerry gives us a way to remove the block list

I have 10.2 now but no Android apps are working.

In the autoloader list I only see the 10.3.2 that's for developers.

Do you have a link to something I can use?

    Thank you!

Just try the 10.3.2.500 again as it seems to be the one many like. I have not been brave enough for jump on it. I like having the option to jump around. I don't back up hardly anything ever, I just resynch with my email servers. It is messy for the first few days until all the redundant contacts are fixed. I could easily fix it if my home computer had Internet. I have to purge some really messy email accounts. But it is not fun going through a few contact lists that are over a decade old. I'm on 10.3.1.2726 right now and it seems fine minus I can not directly upload videos to either YouTube or Facebook. I'll live with the Droid app for now. Good luck and hopefully there is a fix soon for those who want 10.3.1 again

I already had a link for the .500. It didn't work correctly the first time. Thanks though.

I decided to try it again. I spent the past 25 minutes loading it. It just freezes at the lock screen now. I can't even enter the password.

I suggest you do a full wipe of your device and then reinstall the autoloader. Not a security wipe from your Q, but a full wipe using cfp-nuke, or SIC.

Sometimes loading several OS versions as you have can leave "garbage" behind that messes up a new installation. The full wipe will give you a clean device upon which you can load the OS.

    Do not load 10.3.2
    It doesn't allow downgrading.

    Resolve your problems first.
    Go to BlackBerry link
    Settings
    OS reload.

Once your OS is reloaded, then don't load a backup, especially not a backup of your texts.
Start from zero. Sorry, this is the only way. Please backup more often next time and maybe sync your contacts with your email perhaps?

Sounds like the OP already did earlier before going back to 10.2.

Yes - and so, even after a wipe as I have suggested, he still cannot go backward to anything except 10.2.2 - so at this point, he might as well do a clean install of 10.3.2.500.
