Better be Gregorian calendar new year. Never specified which new year, so they have between January and Rosh Hashanah, I think.

I don't care for the android part of the update an will be looking to deleting it, I'm just looking forward to the non android parts. So much for even blackberry having faith in their platform, just looking to increase their app counts by any means. By selling out to the competitions platform offerings.
    Kinda sad

So when are ios apple apps coming since most of bb10 functionality came from open source code put out by them.
Now they just hide the copyrights on separate download link.

This news must continue to hit the pages of the press big time from now on. Its a very important milestone for BB and their marketing team MUST be off the mark with a flying start. No lame marketing like the previous run they had. One can only hope the management changes that BB recently announced will play a positive part in here.

Maybe referring to webkit? That's not really BB10 though and not entirely Apple's work. Oh well lulz.

how can it be "most" of application, if:
    a) i heard about those first time in my life.
    b) Tried few games - all of them work.
    c) this is BETA. leaked. BETA. it means - non stable.
    d) who need firefox, when BB browser is fantastic?!

So you complain about BETA release, that it is non-stable... duh.. but it is extremely stable for me!

The leak does have bugs, BUT....

In terms of capability advance it's massive and, for the most part, just plain works.

I have been running it as my "daily driver" for a couple of weeks now, and am not going back. I like it a lot.

I'm looking forward to seeing the hub issues resolved. Android apps might bring publicity but solving the major issues will help retain a customer base into the future.

I dunno but if you ever looked thru the About section in the browser, Settings>About and scroll through it makes mention of Apple software being provided "as-is"... I thought it was kinda odd when I saw it the first time, and if you check devices that are logged into Facebook, while on bb10 browser, it tells you that you are logged in from Safari browser...

Agreed. Little complaining from me too. I have multiple android apps installed and all work flawlessly.

This refers to webkit which was kind of started by Apple. Same technology behind chrome. Google used it and uses it still extensively. Thing to remember is these versions is use today ate derived from the original work of Apple but vary wildly from one another and probably the base Apple code that they built off. Probably why lots of times mobile browsers can be mistaken as safari.
