    Like the title, i had an issue connecting to BB Link.My device connected to Link but it couldn't display the funtion of backing-up and restoring the data in Link. Using OS 10.2.1.2234 STL 100-1. Does any one having the same problem?
    All your opinions are welcome. Thanks for every thing in advance.

    FINALLY, yesterday (2014-03-19) they released the solution, and it worked perfectly for me.
    You have to install the new Microsoft .NET framework and voil !
    (not working with Win XP)

    Had the same Problem with my Z10 STL-100-2. Could Restore Media and Application Data but not Settings. Link showed "Device Connected" on the left side but in the Main Window it shows the Error Message.

    After a few Restarts of my Z10, Updating BBW and all available BlackBerry and 3rd Party App Updates, i was finally able to Restore the Settings. I don't know if the combination of those things helped or if maybe the few restarts was enough. Sorry.

    Backup made with OS: 10.2.1.2228
    Restored to / with OS: 10.2.1.2234
    PC OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 2 64-Bit
    Link Version: 1.2.3.23

    BTW: I had this Problem a few times! With different BlackBerry OS and different Link Versions. No one really knows what's causing this.

    I was having the same issue as well. I already had the latest Net Framework and the most recent BlackBerry link installed on my computer, but could not get link to connect to my phone. I did a hard reset on the phone then reconnected to link. Still nothing. Disconnected my phone from computer. Removed my phone association from BlackBerry Link. Did another hard reset and connected my phone. Phone was added, recognized, synced media and i have since done a full backup. I am using BlackBerry Z30. This happened with both of the latest updates that i did (2156 and 2160). My opinion is the couple hard resets corrected the problem.

    To be safe, you can do a full back up and restore with Sachesi and also contacts and calendar with Fire Chest. Both excellent ways to keep a backup, backup!

    Good to know that this Solution works for some People. The Problem is, Link is far from being stable. There are too many Reasons a Device Connection Error can occur. OK enough bad news.

    I read yesterday on a support page from Blackberry, that the issues will be fixed after March 30th (especially for XP machines), so we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime for me, I'm syncing calendar with Link and contacts with outlook.com secondary account. What a pain!
