A quick pro tip to those using a PC to backup and restore on BlackBerry Link. Many people reporting several hours to finish a Backup -> Leak -> Restore. I have been struggling to understand why because I can do the whole process in 20 minutes on my setup. Then I used my old PC to make a backup the other day and I understand. USB 2.0 is Extremely slow. Although it will require many of you to upgrade to a new PC to get USB 3.0, it is not entirely necessary if you are comfortable putting a PCI-e card in your PC or if your laptop has an open ExpressCard. Here is a link to help you out

    FALSE!

I just want to make it clear so misinformation doesn't spread. Having a computer with USB 3.0 won't make it faster because the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 do not support USB 3.0 yet.

Your old computer was likely just slow so it took a much longer time.

I have USB 3.0, as well as an i7 2600K, 8GB of RAM, and a solid-state-drive where Windows 7, my apps, and backups are stored. Still isn't enough for BlackBerry Link, as my backup and restore process is immensely slow. The software needs a lot of optimization clearly.

I have an I5 unlocked 2600k?, 16gig of ram, I cannot connect to my phone through a usb 3.0 port, it is for fast file transfer and rapid charging, I have to use a 2.0 port, I backed up, installed the leak and restored in about 40 min., I believe ram is the main factor in the slowness of link, I installed the latest leak last night from my netbook and it took over 2 hours
