Been away from Blackberry for years and am wondering. How often does Blackberry push out updates and does anyone think there will be a difference in timing between the original vs the At&t version BlackBerry Passport as to when those updates are received?

He means yes. There is. Years of difference at times.

Hopefully this will change now that they seem to be partnering with them, but BlackBerry is now what ....0.4% of the market soo....... fortunately we now have Sachesi a program that allows you to update nondestructively just like an OTA update as soon as someone, somewhere in the world receives the update, so not a huge deal.

Truth be told, OFFICIAL updates via CARRIERS take around an year to be released.

OS development though is in full swing and you can tell by the flood of OS leaks we get in the forums.

So if you rely exclusively on your carrier, you'll be waiting along time, but you can't always blame BlackBerry for this.

So do ignore the two biased posters.

Oh yeah, a Passport is a Passport, so any Passport OS will do, no matter the carrier. So like mentioned here, Sachesi your way to happiness.

And know that installing leaks is always "safe". I put that in quotes as of course if you load an early leak, it may be buggier than it's worth. But if you get a current 10.3.1 leak, or a version released by another carrier, it's certainly worth it. Blackberry has a lot of security built in, so you don't have to worry about a leaker modifying the OS in a leak to put in malware or something.
