I suspect not very many people have run all 3 versions with the object of doing a scientific comparison in mind. The best most of us can do is to describe what we do run or have run, and what our observations were. Omnitech also created changelogs for the last 2 or 3 versions so that people could report what changed for them from the previous version they used. those threads are quite detailed, and perhaps contain the kind of info you were looking for, eybee1970.

I read a lot of comments by people not even installed all 3 OS's....to judge which one works better, you have to run all of them for at least a week ... etc

I ran 2228 on my Z10, but switched to the Z30 after a couple weeks. While waiting for the Z30 to show up, I downloaded the 2234 OS and radio from TMo, made an autoloader and started from there. It ran fine, but after about another week or so I did the lazy Sachesi move to 2947 and honestly I didn't spend enough time with 2234 to say if 2947 is noticeably better or worse. I doubt there are any mind-shattering differences - at least nothing I did uncovered any showstoppers.

As mentioned, there are a few meticulous posters and gatherers of information who are useful. Most of the other stuff you hear is just anecdotal, or placebo effect. Like posts 2-3 hours after loading an OS claiming insane battery life. That isn't going to happen. I think you need to spend a week really using the device your *own* way to know for sure. If there is a specific bug you *and* others have, and a few people have noted that the bug is indeed fixed, then that is statistically significant (or as good as it gets for our purposes).

There are also do many different ways people go about switching OSes. Some do full reloads from autoloaders and security wipe after, and do not restore; some do the same, but do restore, no security wipes -- or some just upgrade with Sachesi. All will yield different results, obviously. I use all methods, depending on how much time I have and how long I can afford to be offline (I only have one line) -- or if I am just feeling lazy.

tl;dr: May as well just use the latest. ;-)

I figured you knew about those threads (you probably have posts in them too). But I was feeling like anything I had to say about the OS version I use was not useful to you because I wasn't comparing it with the other two versions in your topic. I tend to go with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" motto when it comes to BB10 updates (I only have the one mobile device). When I found something that ran well and gave me all the features I needed, I decided to stick with it until something better comes along.

Good question. I'm running 2947 on my AT&T Z10 100-3 but with the 2229 radio, and it seems to have somewhat better battery life than the 2235 I was running before (from when I had the 2234 OS).

But now there is the 2759 radio for the 100-3, available as a side load using Sachesi at:

    http://cdn.fs.sl.blackberry.com/fs/q...-v7+signed.bar

and I'm waiting to hear reports on that one on the 2947 thread.

So I updated again, from .2228 to .2234. Especially for someone not on TMobile, there is hardly any difference. Battery life is still great, calls are clear. It might just be my imagination but screen scrolling seems a bit smoother, especially in active forum threads with lots of embedded images.

Since it seems that both the Z3 leak and the recent Sprint OTA files are older than .2234, despite the version numbers, I'm going to stick here for awhile.

but I think as expected because that was a OTA update for me Best battery I ever had

I put 2674 on (it was only on for a day & a half) it was an official release & I got it through Sachesi I'm on T-MOBILE in the U. S. & that's why I thought I didn't see any changes from 2228 2147 0110 & any leak or update since 10.2 was first leaked for that matter

I wanted 2947 & have it now w/ a 10.3 browser The battery is the worse Worst out all any leak & any update I've ever had

Reviewed the changelogs (wow! thanks for all that work, Omnitech), but still not seeing if any of these are compelling to upgrade from 1925.

    .....or am I missing something?

Just got the phone, so a total wipe isn't a problem.

1925 is pretty old Pete. I'd update to at least 2334 or 2947 which is the newest fully working OS. You can then change the battery and add at least the new 10.3 browser which is lightening fast--especially with the .2759 radio on the OS. There are so many newer features that have been added and so many bugs that were fixed since 1925, that the update is advised. Good luck.

After several days on 2947/2759 there is no question in my mind that the battery life on my 100-3 Z10 is better than with any OS radio combo I've ever used. Also, the OS is remarkably fast, and for me, no glitches in native or Snap loaded Android apps.

Went from 2228 to 2234 and then 2947 with 2228 radio.
With 2947 and 2228 radio (I spend a lot of time on wifi)
I was getting erratic wifi signal drops. Regular cell was fine.
Battery life was good on 2947 with 2228 radio (Best yet at that time).
I moved off 2228 radio and loaded 2759 radio. Wifi issue
went away and battery life is good but I don't
think it is quite as good as 2228. Sounds right
that battery life should decrease with better communications.
So, now running 2947 with 2759 radio and battery life is
still good. Really all is good for now. Using 10.3 browser,
Porsche Clock & Face Camera with solid use. Bluetooth
seems solid right now but still testing. Sticking where I
    am for a while.
Still working on removing Story Maker in my spare
time. (Not much of that right now) 2234 was a fair
OS but not as snappy as 2947. Used 2228
radio on 2234. Battery life was not as good as
2228. Whew.. Hope I got all the version
numbers right.. (**) I'm so confused.. lol
Good luck.. Is it Friday yet?

I update to the latest leak as soon as I get my hands on it so I have tried all 3. I did not get 10.3 yet because I don't want to deal with the glitches and battery life is important to me.

With that being said, hands down 2947 is the best so far. Two major issues in 2234 for me were battery life and the text messaging app kept getting distorted forcing me to restart. 2947 fixed that and significant improvement in battery life. Most stable build and definitely much faster.

Don't think twice, get 2947 and feel confident that you have the most stable and hassle free build for now.

Does 2947 come w/ 2759 radio, or do I install that after installing 2947?

All you had to do was read the first post of the 2947 thread. It comes with 2235 radio because it was a z3 OS but you can load any radio you want after. It just overwrites the old radio. And before you ask. Search radio archive. Thurask has every radio autoloader for every OS in his thread.
