During a press conference on the results of the first quarter, BlackBerry CEO John Chen has spent little time discussing the BlackBerry 10 operating system, but has repeatedly said that it BlackBerry 10 developers and commitment has not changed."

The new version of the BlackBerry 10.3.3 had to leave in mid-June, but was once again postponed.

BlackBerry 10.3.3 passes NIAP certification, which we expect to receive by the end of this month. The software will obviously be available shortly thereafter, "said Chen.

National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) manages a national program for the development of protection profiles, assessment methodology and policies that will provide accessible, repeatable, and testable requirements. In partnership with NIST, NIAP also approves the general criteria for testing laboratories to conduct these safety assessments of private sector operations in the United States. In addition, NIAP working with NATO and International Organizations for Standardization (ISO), to share the experience of the evaluation criteria and to avoid duplication of efforts. In the US, NIAP is in close contact with the users of the national safety systems to ensure secure use of profiles.

In its new strategy, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10 allocates an important place, as the operating system for users from government agencies and regulated industries business. But given the fact that the company has no plans to promote BlackBerry 10 for ordinary consumers, we would not be associated with the release of BlackBerry 10.3.3 great hopes. Rather, update, except for increased security will be able to offer only bug fixes.

Earlier this month, the BlackBerry has released the first beta version of BlackBerry 10.3.3 to developers, but it does not contain the necessary applications for daily use.

Take it with a grain of salt of course. BUT. There is only a few (4) to be exact in this month. It's probable they sign off on it Monday Tuesday and push it by the end of the week. Do it July 1st ( Can't get more Canadian then that!)

It was still waiting NIAP certification is what he said so i doubt you will see it in June. And considering that this certification is basically the reason for the entire release you will have to wait on them for however long it takes.

Really have to wonder when BlackBerry applied for NIAP Certification.... and if they have been turned down and had to resubmit.

Last summer some had said it was only a process of 3 - 6 months (their website confirms this), so the release of 10.3.3 in the March 2016 timeframe seemed very possible.

Crackberry would do a great service to everyone by writing an article making this very clear. I had absolutely no idea it would stop sideloading.

Everyone should be told the benefits of not updating.

Agreed, they have been doing it since the start of BlackBerry 10. Never stuck to deadlines.

I don't care when 10.3.3 launches. But it annoys a lot of people when you get told a date and then get let down. Then get told another date, aaaand get let down.

Announcement in September - launch in March
Announcement in April - launch in June
Announcement in July - Launch in (lost interest)

Since BB10 is obviously no longer BlackBerry's top priority, release date for 10.3.3/10.3.4 should just be "TBA." At least they won't be breaking anyone's promises and/or hearts then.

One would think they would just do that... makes loads of sense. But, it's BlackBerry we talking about here... I'm very dedicated to their device as it does what I want. But, with my device no longer seeming to be supported. The end is out there... somewhere!!

Given BlackBerry's tendency to be late, are they better off announcing things in advance or just releasing it when it's ready? (This is directed to the people who are complaining about no announcement dates for the next devices.)

It will happen, as the security side increases side loading becomes a hole that will have to be plugged, unless they can figure it out. Either way let's enjoy our phones while they last!
