My report after about a week (passport unlocked from Shopbb): battery better or the same as on 10.3.1.2xxx, don't remember where I was, phone snappier, apps work well with one exception, cannot open shazam, it tries and shuts down (not a biggie), phone gets hotter but nothing crazy, stand by battery consumption still kind of too high at 5%, equal or better signal strength in network and wifi (I would say better actually), I got the update OTA to .400 (T-Mobile USA) and then I blitzed to .798

I'm not sure if this is a known issue with 10.3. 2, or not, but USB on-the-go doesn't seem to work at all, now?

It worked great on 10.3.1.2744, but I can't get my Z30 to recognize the USB drive at all with the 10.3.2.798 load.

Is this a bug, or a feature?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

    Hello,

In a previous post I said .798 was running very good and it really is. Gave this version the name Lightning but but but have to say .680 runs a little better after some testing with both versions.
At least in my case, my Z10 runs smoother with .680 and the apps as well. Find to have better reception and the battery is from the start better.

    Best regards

Everyone's experience is different. Many factors come into play. My experience is that it is on par or slightly better than 10.3.1

I am on the same boat here with my stl100-4, same high system battery.

Maybe there is a special version of the 798 for us, or radio.

798 was officially realeased for the classic, from BlackBerry.
Maybe try 680 and see if u get better results. That version was released for all other devices.

Having the same "higher than normal battery consumption via System" on my Telus Passport. Can someone confirm that 680 will stop this? Average battery life of 25-26 hrs has been reduced to 18-19...

    Previous version was 10.3.1.2744

Nobody can confirm this as battery life is not equal for everyone. I can only suggest you try it for yourself.

Hmmm... Thanks so much for giving that a shot for me. Let me grab another cable and give it another shot.

    [...]

Yep! It looks like my OTG cable connection was a bit flaky. It works for me w/the backup OTG cable, too! Sweet!

Have a great day, and thanks again! I was about to regret upgrading, as I use the OTG stuff a lot.

I understand battery life is relative to use.

Identifying issues is about is about recognizing patterns, there is a clear issue with reduced battery life and higher % of System time. If anyone has seen improvements with downgrading to 680 or the reduced battery life was not seen in 680, that's the feedback I'm looking for.

I have spent time on both 680 and 798 and have noticed no discernible difference in battery life.

Battery life is worse than 680 on my Q10. I had approximately 2 days of battery life and now I have 1 day and 12 hours.
And I noticed problems with phone network since few days. Sometimes, i'm unable to make and receive calls. Never had this issue before.

I do find some sort of lag or delay in whatsapp and facebook notifications.

Like I do get the notifications but only when I open these apps, otherwise it seems as if they are getting updated after almost 4 hours.

And I do have checked for the settings where I could set the update interval but couldn't find anywhere.

Are you on the latest FB app update?
I am on the latest one, and FB notification frequently came to my Z30 about 10 mins after my iPad's. Both devices are on the same WiFi. Not sure why...
