Installed successfully over beta 680. Working everything ok but build date (11 May) is worrying me since 680 was also released on same day (May 11). So, what's new in this?
680 has a build date of 05-05-2015. So 798 is 6 days newer with the May 11th build date.

Why would it? The idea of RAM is for the OS to use it and to keep your most used app on there.

Basically it's normal that less and less RAM is available. However, lots of apps are not well programmed and leaks Memory

    Posted via CB10
The system itself, should not continue to hold onto to RAM that it is not utilizing. You are either misunderstanding me, or how RAM is working. So if you boot and system is using 325 MB of RAM and then you start the media player, the media player will now use some RAM to run as will system RAM increase while the media player is launching and running. Once the media player is closed, the RAM used to run the player and manage the system should all go back to available memory - - this is espeecially true where available RAM starts at just about 50% of total RAM (perhaps not as much an issue on a smartphone running 3-4 GB of RAM) but this OS does tend to slow its roll a bit once available RAM drops under 500MB. Apps launch a bit slower, transitions and scrolling is not as smooth - and Android apps especially don't respond as snappy. I understand BB is likely using some RAM in an attempt to cache the music player - so it launches quicker the next time and supposedly picks up where it left off. However, this is not happening efficiently in my opinion, and having the opposite effect in many cases.

Remember my post about Plantronics not investigating the BT issue because I was running a beta OS? Well now 680 isn't beta, it's official. On my drive to work this morning I'll test the connection, and if I get the usual frequent disconnects I'll be calling Plantronics and now the techs will have to open a ticket and investigate. Perhaps they will be able to find on which side the problem is.
I won't be installing 798 until I hear back from Plantronics.

Isn't 798 the official release as opposed to 680, or does it vary by the phone model?

Also, we both had similar issues with the Motorola Boom, as well. I returned my Boom so I can't test it with 798.

My problems with the Pebble connection persist. It will eventually connect and work with Talk2Watch, but won't stay connected.

I'm waiting to hear again from BlackBerry tech support on my latest logs submission to them while on 798.

well, I am downloading the autoloader.
We'll try this again tomorrow. It never finished updating. It stopped again so I just restored my last backup (10PM)
I will keep you guys posted.

I was having similar problems when using a blitz package (update package of bar files) on my phone a little while back. I was able to get everything to work my pulling all of the app bars from the debrick and using those. It seems sometimes these blitz packages get corrupted and cause these kind of problems. If you haven't run the autoloader yet I would suggest ripping all of the bar files yourself and replacing all of the previous app bars you were trying to use.

Even though I already had 680 it showed it as the update. I don't think it had much to update as it only took about 5 minutes or so. 798 isn't showing up in my update.

I don't find any difference in the BT connectivity issue at all from 680. I did an autoload of 680 last night after a complete wipe (yes, I know, wipes don't help), and thought the BT connectivity with Pebble was a little better, but just a little. Probably my imagination. No improvement in Plantronics connectivity at all. This afternoon I did a Blitz load of 798 via Sachesi, and cannot detect any improvement in the BT connectivity, even after deleting devices, re-installing them, etc. I also have had a "QNX" error in booting a couple of Android apps, but after a hard reboot that seems to be solved.

If you've been following my posts on BT you know that I submitted logs to BB directly when I was on 680, and the response from their "engineers" was that I was on a beta release, the the BT issues were OS related, and in short, nothing they could or would do. Now that 798 is being pushed OTA they can hardly call it a beta release or leak. I may contact BB again and resubmit logs, if they'll start another ticket.

This is all sort of ridiculous, of course. BlackBerry is failing its customer base in not fixing as basic an issue as BT connectivity, and fixing it fast. It's hard to believe they can't find the problem(s), whether with the Passport hardware or the OS or the compatibility between the OS and the hardware.

If I were a new BlackBerry end user and had just bought a Passport through AT&T, I would be returning it because of the flicker and also the BT problems. What would I know about upgrading to a late 10.3.1 OS to get rid of the flicker and then still have the BT problem, albeit not as bad. Then, when I got an OTA 10.3.2 update, the BT problem would be even worse.
What kind of bt problems are you having I'm running bt for hours a day either transferring files or connected to my bose bt speaker or an fm transmitter in my car

Interesting. I never got any update notification--I used the Blitz update of 798 over 680. Right now I'm reinstalling 798--the whole thing--from the Blitz folder as a last ditch effort to see if the BT problem can be solved.

Also, I found an old BT keyboard to try. It paired right away with the Passport, then disconnected spontaneously from it.

I'm pretty sure this entire BT connection problem has to do with the Passport--maybe just some Passports--and possibly the OS interactions with the Passport, given the wide variety of BT devices that are having issues with Passports. At this point I really doubt that the Plantronics is at fault.

I think I'm going to have to swap out the Passport once again, whether it's through BlackBerry itself or Amazon.

Just a question as you been asking for this for a VERY long time now:

"Have you thought of contacting BlackBerry directly to see what help (if any) you can provide with this Lithuanian language problem?

[assuming you are Lithuanian and that it's you that keep requesting that fix]

it just won't hold the connections. I've made a number of posts on this in various threads, as have some others. It's looking as though it's just Passports that are affected, and maybe only some Passports. I'm waiting to hear again from BlackBerry once more, but think I'll have to swap it out at this point.
