WOW! 2789 is faster and more fluid than 2474! And I was very happy with 5474! Love the Tmobile wifi calling. Been on tmobile and BlackBerry 10 years now and this is definitely the best OS!

Question. When I updated using Sachesi, I chose to only update newer files. Is there any difference in unchecking that and updating all?

Everything seems good on the phone and battery is very good too!

    Thanks in advance!

Nope, no difference. Not every file changes with each newer update, usually. Sachesi just skips over the files you already have that haven't been updated, instead of downloading and trying to install them all over again.

I'm having an odd problem after using the autoloader on my Q10. After installing and doing a hard reset I go ahead and change the device name to something more personal and sign in to Blackberry ID. All seems to go well, but everyone time I reboot after that, the device name and Blackberry ID disappear. That is, the device name reverts back to the default based on the PIN and I'm no longer signed in to BB ID. And if I've re-arranged all my icons the way I want them, they revert back to the default too. I've now re-installed 4 or 5 times, and the same each time.
    Help!
Anyone?? I tried a couple more times, also tried a Blitz, and still no joy. Fortunately, this is a backup phone, but I've wasted a lot of time and gotten nothing but frustration so far.

You may have the blue LED issue. If so, apply the following fix as described here:

All data is deleted following a manual restart of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone and a blue LED is displayed during boot up

For some reason I am not feeling the joy that others are. Here is the list of issues I am facing on my Z10 on T-Mobile.

    1) Email will no longer load into the hub (even after forcing a re-sync)
    2) Sent email takes several minutes to send.
    3) No hub notifications for voice mail.
    4) Battery dead by 6pm (used to still have juice at 11pm)

I loaded the Blitz via Sachesi like I normally do. I have reset the phone several times by holding down the volume buttons.

For email, have you tried removing and re-adding the account? Same for voice mail?

For battery, I was recently having massive battery drain, though only from 9 PM to 9 AM. It was all System CPU. I deleted the two running Android apps, both Amazon apps, and battery is great again. One (or both) of those Amazon apps were hung up on something.

I decided to just downgrade to 2204 using Sachesi and the Blitz I already had. The phone is back to working great. If I try 2789 again, I might just do a wipe and autoloader and then rebuild everything from scratch.

You mean the "new message only" view mode? Yeah, I can do it on my Q10. The pinching is done on the screen.

It's not difficult to install updates, however, if something goes wrong, you need to be prepared to have your phone out of service until you're able to fix things; that's why I asked your level of experience. It's unclear what "basic computer experience" means these days, but let's say you're competent enough to install an application, download and extract files, follow instructions, and have enough knowledge to understand error/warning messages.

First, let's see if you can install Sachesi:

    https://github.com/xsacha/Sachesi/releases

It's the app you'll use to install the update files.

After that, go to the first post and download the correct files for a Q10 update. Please list the files you've downloaded for the Q10 update.

Doing all this will give me, and others, an idea of how much hand holding you might require and possibly whether you should proceed.

If all this sounds too "basic" for you and you want to dive right in with minimal instructions, see post #315. It has both detailed instructions and "short cut" version.
Great to see folks who are willing to give of their time and expertise, to offer guidance like this. It encourages a sense of community.

Last night I had high system CPU usage that drained my battery out on the Z30. In this case I know what the trigger was but not why.

Came home, went on WiFi, purchased an app from BlackBerry World which downloaded and installed and then the CPU apparently kept going. So there is probably a bug there involving the purchase and install app process.

Technarch, it may be a complete coincidence, but I had the same experience last night. I woke to a completely dead Z30 this morning, though I had not loaded any new apps. Rebooted and put in back on the charger and it's been OK the rest of the day.

I wonder.. I came home a little while and the device had trouble connecting to WiFi and then it black screened. No swipe worked. Power button worked however so I pressed restart.

Looks like the android player went nuts. Except I don't have any android apps..
