    Yeah bbm update sucks
BBM seems to be broken since this afternoon, on Android and iPhone as well. It probably has nothing to do with the update, unless the update somehow broke the whole store.

I'm having a problem downloading the autoloader from MEGA for my (T-Mobile Z-10). It tells me that the file is too large. This week I use a autoloader to update to 10.3.2.2474 from bitcasa (courtesy of Thurask) without any problems. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone, has anyone loaded this on an OG Passport purchased through Amazon? I'm just wondering if it is running smooth, good battery life and no screen flicker, etc. I think I might update my wife's Passport, but if it goes crazier on her, she is going to be mad at me for messing with her phone again. I just don't want any regrets, otherwise I will never hear the end of it. She is currently running the latest 10.3.1.xxxx and on Tmobile, which for the most part is working fine with a few minor bugs here and there, but a simple reboot when needed fixes it.

    Thanks for the replies.

I upgraded to this version and have no issues. Since last upgrade, double typing fixed and has not re-occured. LTE and overall signal reception best it ever has (on Rogers in Canada). Understand the apprehension at trying to fix and boom you get the one in a million hiccup, but suggest you do it. Should go well and then she will love you for it.

Well. Spoke too soon. With the Q5 wifi calling finally showed up but the wifi calling app didn't show up. Meaning wifi calls can be made but you cannot adjust the wifi calling settings.

I could either do the low-level mathematical way to convert an integer to a little-endian hex number, or I could cheat and manipulate it like a string, hence the ghetto.

Anyway, that actually was broken, since I forgot to commit some other stuff.

At the moment, a generated autoloader is installing *something* onto my old Z10. If it's 2789/2790, watch this space.

Edit: Success. Time to package the other autoloaders and upload them. Should take several hours.

wifi calling app connection to wifi is intermittent. Wifi calling returns an error after some time. No amount of disabling and enabling, or switching the wifi calling app on and off does not solve the issue. It takes a hard reset for the app to connect to wifi again. It took me 3 resets today.

    Some findings compared to 2639:

    • ETWS (Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System) now more prominent
    • New carrier (ECID 821, probably in Japan)
    • Mentions of two new apps, but no sign of the apps:
    • com.rim.bb.app.dailyplanner
    • com.rim.bb.app.reflect
    • Still no sign of a BB10 Priv

    OS diff (8960-8960): Paste.ee - View paste p3xqr

    Radio diff (8960.wtr5-8960.wtr5): Paste.ee - View paste xkpd0
What means ECID 821 ? Is it a carrier name ?

All of the carriers have ECID numbers. ECID-labeled files in the OS provide certain carrier default settings.

The only one I can remember off the top of my head is that Verizon is 538.

821 is new in this OS, and is probably in Japan, since the default timezone specified is that of Tokyo.

    Not without a hex editor.

But if you do have one, try to find the beginning of each signed file and manually extract it. Then, make an autoloader with some other tool (Darcy's/Sachesi/bbarchivist from Git).

Might be a bit technical, but I'll try.

An autoloader is arranged like this:

Copy of cap.exe (the magic RIM tool that creates the loader and loads the files)
Offset (contains starting positions for signed files; when loader is started, it checks here and knows what to load)
Signed files (one after the other)

The problem with the old loaders was that the offset was coming out malformed; the file positions were the same as a normal loader, but the offset was too short/long, so the actual positions didn't match (hence the "Failed to seek file").

To fix that, first get a hex editor. HxD - Freeware Hex Editor and Disk Editor | mh-nexus is a good one.

Once you have one, open the autoloader file with the hex editor. If you're using HxD, go to Search -> Find, search for "6D 66 63 71 00 00 00 00 01" (no quotes), datatype is Hex-values. You should see a result around offset 008D2F00: that's the beginning of the first signed file (each signed file starts the same way). The second occurrence of "6D 66 63 71 00 00 00 00 01" is the start of the second signed file.

In this case, everything between the first 6D 66 63 71 00 00 00 00 01 and the second 6D 66 63 71 00 00 00 00 01 is the OS file. Highlight that (including the first hex string, not including the second hex string), copy it into a new file and save. Then, copy everything between the second 6D 66 63 71 00 00 00 00 01 and the end of the file into a new file; the radio signed file.

Then, make an autoloader like normal with Darcy's Tools/Sachesi.
