I guess something went wrong I tried to load .799 radio on to my Z30 and now I have double red blink. What should I do?
Power off to phone / plug PC / run autoloader / turn on power to phone
    It's done

I know I should do that but I was expecting a solution to save my data. I decided to use cloud storage then. But which one?

I tried different radios but I still got the blink so I autoloaded the entire OS.

Make an autoloader with the appropriate core and radio for your device. That should rescue it without erasing your data.

I really think most people have problems from doing restores, I never do them and I never seem to have these problems. With apps like contactx and back up pro that save to your SD card, makes it easy and painless. I always believe doing restores drag in some old files of sorts to cause these problems. Just my opinion.

You may be correct. But I recall having these spontaneous reboot problems with the Passport (also with the Z10) when we had earlier OS versions like 10.2.1.xxxx. It's always a question of whether the restore process brings with it problem files.

In the case of my SE, which is supposed to have identical hardware with the OG, I did a clean autoload of 10.3.2.2339, then a restore from my OG Passport which also had 2339 on it, and it wasn't rebooting. I recently upgraded the SE Passport Core OS and radio and three new app files from 2639 via Sachesi.

These reboots don't occur very often, and they are pretty much random, or at least I haven't found a correlation with how I'm using the Passport at the time. Sometimes I only find out about a reboot when I look at the device after not having used it for a while and see that the running apps are sort of greyed out.

If I do perform an autoload wipe (all that's really necessary, I think), I would still want to restore the media files and the apps with their data, leaving only the settings data unrestored. The only thing I need from the settings data is the memorized words and the personalized data (not so difficult to set up), because all my contact and calendar info is in the cloud, and I can back up all the SMS and MMS messages.

Is it worth the hassle? I haven't yet decided.

Why would you do a restore from the OG, I think there is a few small differences.

Do yourself a favor and reload using a loader, and set up like new as much as possible. I really think you will see an improvement.

The only hardware difference I'm aware of between the OG and the SE is that the earlier 10.3.2.xxx versions are blacked out. I did the restore originally because I wanted to avoid setting everything up again.

When you talk about starting "like new" I assume you would still restore the media data (or maybe it should all be moved to the SD card?). What about the apps and app data? Then I lose all my bookmarks, cookies with passwords for various non-secure sites, etc. Big pain, it seems to me. Again, not restoring the Settings data makes sense, since there is little to do to set up the email accounts, etc., again, and I don't care much about the saved words. Your thoughts?

I only suggest setting up as much as possible, that you feel comfortable with. I don't use many game apps so I never worry about that. Why don't you just save all the book marks and stuff to remember. Or Evernote.

PS: yes I keep all mine on Media card.

Actually, I don't use any game apps at all, but there are other apps that have data associated with them that I find inconvenient to have to update.

I'm convinced it would be a good idea to start clean. I may wait until there is a newer release and then autoload that one. Maybe it will even be 10.3.3!
