How's your battery life, does it increase?

    BlackBerry Passport 10.3.1.2480
Was having some issues with Passport's battery on 2480 (lasts about 1.5 days), I've installed radio version 10.3.1.2073 and now my passport's battery is in long range cruise mode :P

I'm getting the same battery performance as when I was on 2072.

    I remember only 2073, I got 2 days instead of 1.5 before.
I'm an passport abuser by the way! Lol!

Edit: I remember I got a drop call once on the 2073 radio, that's why I am hesitant to install this.

I had vowed that when I got my Passport six days ago that I would keep it pristine and give up, cold turkey, on leaks.

That lasted until two days ago when I started getting those flickers. Grrr. So I loaded 2267 first. Then 2480 right after.

I haven't had any flickers since.

I am getting about 12 to 13 hours of battery life. Leagues better than what I was getting on my Z10. Was hoping for a little more. But I haven't let it run down below 20% yet. So perhaps I would get more than what I stated.

I'm still getting the hang of this phone. I typed much faster on my Z10. But it took me a while to build up to that speed. Here's to hoping I get as fast or even faster in time.

I really love the wide display. When I picked up my Z10 the other day it felt like a toy.

You think the Z10 feels like a toy.... try picking up a Bold 9700. My friend brought that over yesterday cuz she's been using it for the past 3-4 years with no problems but then the screen went on it a couple days ago and I'm telling you that thing felt like a damn toy! I had it in my hand like "I used to type on this thing!?!?!?.... how!?..." lol. That thing is sooo damn tiny. When I put it on top of my passport it was just a little over half of my passport. Wow. Smartphones and BlackBerrys have come a long way.

You're so right. I forgot I experienced that the other day too. I had given my old 9700 to a friend when her phone died so she could use it until she gets either the Classic or the Passport.

And when I saw her a few days ago, the 9700 seemed miniature.

It wasn't all that long ago when we used to brag who had the smallest cell phone.

Now men can be men again!

I don't think it's the radio. You may want to check out

I too had really obnoxious heat and battery problems, and they completely went away after I uninstalled my amazon apps (kindle and music). I'm now back to about 50% battery after a 16 hour business day, and no heat issues whatsoever.

You can easily check what apps have 'run in background' by going to the Applications Permission screen and just sort by those apps. You could experiment by turning one off at a time to see if one of them is the culprit.

I also turn off permission to run while minimized on most apps I use.

Mine was overheating after 2480 until I also made sure to shut off run in background on all the android apps.

I email all day long and my battery has been at 80 percent at midnight several days this week.

Indeed. I forgot to mention this. I saw however no change right away, even not after a regular restart. Had to hard reset the PP in order to get back to regular battery life. (You may want to try amazon appstore and amazon music first.)

Anyone else having issues with their volume buttons (specifically the volume up and mute button) after upgrading to this version?

I've had the upgrade files installed since they came out, had to do a security wipe a few days later to get things working 100%. But as of this morning I noticed that my mute button and volume up button don't work. I noticed around 1am this morning the mute button wasn't working when I pressed it to bring up BlackBerry Assistant and nothing happened. restarted the phone and still nothing (yes I made sure that the setting was on for the mute button to activate assisatnt). restarted again and left it alone, then when I went to go turn up the volume on the phone for a video, nothing happened either. I didn't get the volume bar at the top or anything. Pressed the volume down and that works no problem, I think (it brought up the volume bar but noticed there were no bars in it and I never turn the volume all the way down) So now I can only adjust the volume by going into the settings and dragging the bar for Main Volume. Phone hasn't been dropped or anything that would cause those buttons to stop functioning all of the sudden.

    anyone else having this issue?

Update: mute button is now working for everything. assistant and muting media. just the volume up key doesn't work now
