As we all know 10.3.0.140 has issues with RAM usage. Is there any way to free up RAM other than rebooting on a daily basis?

What symptoms do you experience that make you ask?
Is it just the RAM amount looking high in Device Monitor, or is there a performance effect?

One main issue is that the camera stops working once RAM has reached a certain level, no way to get the camera working again even after force closing apps.

    Only solution... Reboot.

The most annoying issue is that you are unable to open the camera when the free RAM falls below 600MB and this does happen on a daily basis.

Problem is solved by loading 10.2.1. Lol. Seriously. It's such an early build that we have to live with some of the annoyances. I use 10.3 on my z10 as a daily driver and rarely use the camera. Today I took 5 pictures and did not receive the error.

Agreed on all points. One thing I'm testing today is leaving Device Monitor open in an active frame. No logic involved here but will report back if I can still open the camera in six hours from now :-)

Well, I had the phone reboot at 19:51 the previous day and now at 14:13 the following day my camera starts without issues.

I don't think it is pet se RAM - I think there is something else responsible too, even of the message states it is a memory problem.

I find that if you get the camera message, close it and try to open it again - it takes a few tries but does work in some mysterious circumstances. This suggests the issue isn't actually due to lack of memory, but something else.

Can't figure out how much memory it actually takes to run, since going to device manager takes system focus off the camera and into device manager.

Not sure what else could be going on, though...

I've also disabled the pop up hints and face detection in the camera settings. Not sure of that's making a difference or not.

I've also noticed 10.3 seems to be hanging onto memory for apps that aren't in use - Pictures Previewer, Intelligent Assistant, and Media Player, in my case. Browser seems to stay in memory even when closed, too.

I understand the concept of indexing and certain headless functions, but the things staying open for me are taking large amounts of memory and don't really make sense to be running as a background process.

I usually don't see this until I either go sub 300MB of RAM and even then, when I free up above 600MB, it starts working fine.

I usually only have to reboot to get it to work if I had it plugged in to USB to charge.

Strange indeed, but I will take the bad with the good. Can't complain when using unofficial software, especially one this early in its build. I also don't see a problem with mentioning the issues either as long as it's not put in a way that makes it seem like a complaint. It should be more on an FYI.

So I found out if you leave the app running it will always work. I have a ton of apps running and camera included and it works. Soon as I close it and reload it it says that error. Unless it's just me

I did try this and still got the error after it dropped below 300MB. It must be a memory leakage problem in this early build.

Yup tried it as well, didn't work.

Gonna have to wait for another leak... if it ever comes.

You know, that USB charging could be key - USB as in PC port not charger, isn't it?
Anybody up for testing it? My laptop is my charger today...

As it was said earler its an pre alpha release and the camera fault is nothing to do with RAM. This fault pops up after a while even if Device have 700mb free RAM.
