Keep in mind this was meant for devs to create and test their apps, some features may not work as expected and some core apps may be missing.

Works for me. You need to select the radio button by the device you want to download it for.

Try this url. It was generated when I selected the STL100-1 in the lower portion of the Beta selection screen.

    http://developer.blackberry.com/nati...10.2.0.341.exe

Did anyone try to install the missing apps from the 10.2 leaks or 10.1?

Backup your device with BlackBerry Link
When complete, run the autoloader downloaded - enter password if requested
Once that's done, go through the initial setup, unplug and replug in device to USB
    Restore with BlackBerry Link

This is a beta for developers only, this is not like the other leaks. It does not come with all the apps and components you are used to the OS having. DO NOT install it unless you are a developer looking to test out the new SDK features.

This might be relevant to those that may want to play with this using their existing device and main BlackBerry ID. Its worth reading the release notes before loading Betas.

"Please be sure to create a second BlackBerry ID for your Dev Alpha device. If you use your existing BlackBerry ID, all BBM contacts could be transferred from your current BlackBerry device to your Dev Alpha device and they will be erased from your current BlackBerry device. You will NOT be able to automatically transfer your BBM contacts back to your current device at this time."

If apps are the only difference, I'm sure someone will extract them from .228 to be loaded onto .341 to make it a more complete OS.

Or extract what apps there are on .341 to sideload into .228 updating it.

I know I'll be comparing the 2 as soon as they download (using my work connection which is slower) and seeing which route I want to go.

They haven't disabled calls since BB10 release on any device. So yes, it is.

For daily use, the problem comes down to their disabling of all other account types than Email. So no facebook, MSN, etc.

Media players are gone too, though I think using a file manager like Ghost will call them up and work. Also no file manager, have to download one.

What they are making clear is that if you use your main or current BlackBerryID on the Beta OS your contacts will not be transferred back if you use this BlackBerryID on another device or I assume, if you downgrade the device to the 10.1 OS. You will need to add them back manually.

In other words, do as they say and use a different BlackBerryID on the Beta OS.
