Strange bug while going to contacts from the dial app: no contact can be viewed, the screen is full of horizontal white lines. If I enter from the contacts app itself everything appears fine.
This problem disappeared after a restart and hasn't reappeared 'till now.

Ok, so I know u're all tied of my incessant indecisiveness - some irate moderator/administrator is gonna boot me rudely off.....BUT... apropos of upcoming weekend at mother-in-laws I find myself in need of distraction) so I'ma take the plunge.

Full Disclosure - any bricking mishaps with be blamed on her, so feel free to throw in....

1ST Priority: stability, this is my primary work phone
2ND - full set of apps running, or at least a lits of known buggy ones that I can avoid loading
3RD - battery life (the one I'm most envious of)
4TH - voice calls (also critical as I'm on jobsites a lot with no wifi.

Currently running 10.1.0.2011 on SQN100-2. Main question - sacheshi's not required anymore right? And as I'm on a Q, I don't need hybrids.

So will some kind deity (thurask / Kris / Darcy) take pity on me and lay it out please? I'ma start on the 4633 dowload now....

Again, ur faithful, yet terririfed acolyte ))) hoping for som answers.

Any 4xxx build has this. Battery life is not exact, for example I have the worst of these on 4633, others the best. As it's an autoloader you don't need anything but a windows PC. Sachesi can build autoloaders, or for available OS versions you can upgrade the phone.

Still, don't forget it's your decision to load it up. Others can help to make it but it'll be your choice.

I think it was always been there. You can close the phone active frame too. But don't do it with BBM voice call AF because it'll hang up the chat.

I never noticed it before, but then I never looked either. So maybe it has been always there. Useful to have as it tells you when you have an active phone call.

As I remember, it has been there for quite a long.
As for the active frame closing, I have been doing that also, because if I have the phone in the genuine pouch and make a call from a BT device (such as my car or the headset), whenever I pull the phone from the pouch the phone frame shows that there is an ongoing call, even though the cal might be finished even an hour ago. So if I manually close the AF while the call is in progress, I do not get that bug when I hung up.

You definitely did your homework yeah, these are the steps you should follow. You shouldn't have any issues then. And don't worry, you cannot install wrong autoloader, it won't work.
And unfortunately, I'm pretty far away in Europe (Hungary)

    I think it's ok . However:
    1. It doesn't matter what Q10 version you have; differences are present only at the Z10.
I would also suggest to turn off the phone after completing all the steps (when it is in its final state, it works as it should), remove the battery, reinsert it and turn off. This 10th is recommended to be done after 2-3 hours of using the phone.
Many people state that it doesn't matter very much, but for me I've seen battery improvements after this.
    Good luck!

Had a play with this for about 2 hours! Here's what I've noticed

    1. Watching videos now has 3 zoom modes, and the panning has been removed when in a zoom mode(Which sucks)

    2.Remote sharing works again

3.Contact app has a bug with linking contacts. You can't seem to link a contacts social network to their phone number by being in the main profile, you have to goto the social profile and link it from there.

    Noted that:

Restored contacts lose some of their links, especially where the names differ (eg Twitter and BBM).

    Email is still incorrectly formatted.

What's interesting is that according to BlackBerry themselves you should be able to use both on the same pc. For reference you can go here: KB33475-Support for BlackBerry Link and BlackBerry Desktop Software on the same computer
I'm not denying there might be people who do experience some kind of troubles, but the rootcause could just as well be any other piece of software installed. Anyhow, just wanted to point this out as I don't see BB remarking anywhere on this.
You are quite right. I run both the Link and Desktop Manager on my system and I am yet to have any issues either with Backup Restores or the Remote File access.

Most issues from my experience with BDM are caused by improperly un-installed previous versions.

I could backup/restore no problem, however I could not load bbm channels as DM would not recognize my phone, I had to re-run bblink setup which gave me the repair option which solved the problem for me (DM=device manager)

Can I request for an autoloader of the radio file for this leak? I am currently on 4633 but my BB icon keeps disappearing from the signal and sometimes 3G/H+ would become small letters randomly (lose data connection). I don't have time to load the full OS now (backing up/restoring/wiping) so I am looking for a quick fix on my connection issue.

    Morning report on 4651:

    1. The WiFi calling issue was a combination of provisioning by T-Mobile (which they fixed but took a couple of hours to go through their system) and me having the phone behind a DMZ to make it operable when on VPN for testing within my network. I dropped the DMZ, the provisioning went through, and it now works for me 100%. I can select Cell preferred, WiFi preferred, or WiFi required with the little "helper" app.

    2. RFS works both local and on Cell.

    3. Battery has settled down. I'll have a clean call on its actual consumption tomorrow or Monday sometime, but it looks ok for the time being. I am paying particular attention to whether the phone gets into the "doesn't sleep" state that occasionally happens on 2006; that can be cleared on the 2006, 2014 and 2019 by going into and out of airplane mode without a reboot. If this leak does not exhibit this misbehavior that will be a BIG improvement but it will take at least 48 hours to know for sure as I have been unable to provoke an exact scenario to cause it to happen "on demand."

    4. Android player is faster than some previous versions. The differences are pretty striking in terms of startup time. However, there are still Android apps that run fine on an Android device but are "stuttery" on the player. This is one thing that BlackBerry needs to put some effort into -- to understand what it is in the code for (as an example) Bloomberg's news app that causes this, because the apps that have this issue have a much-poorer user experience. This is not so much about people like me who will sideload but rather about people who won't and enticing app developers to perform a 30-second port (where that works) and not have a user experience problem.

    5. Bluetooth and other connectivity works perfectly.

    6. Restore was flawless coming from T-Mobile official. No problems, including stored SMS messages.

    7. No app problems or functionality issues noted thus far. I have loaded about a dozen sideloaded apps including a couple that use native code and thus require the debug token to load (but not run) and all are fine.

    8. NOTE THAT THE MMSC IS EDITABLE IN THIS VERSION! If you want to use the Z10 on Straight Talk (or other MVNO) where you have to be able to edit the MMSC you can with this firmware. This is a huge deal for anyone who might have a need or desire to do that.

I have loaded the 10.2 camera but not the alarm clock as the latter caused previous versions to go into "never sleep all the way" mode and triple standby battery life. 10.2 camera has focus lock which I really like, incidentally. I may go rooting around in this version and grab the alarm clock bar out -- then try the 10.2 one on this load and see if it will cooperate without driving battery consumption through the roof.

In short everything is working that was, nothing broke, the new functionality expected (WiFi calling) is working, and I see no stability problems or other operational flaws introduced that weren't there before.

Unless something changes I'm keeping this one as a daily. I suspect (but am not willing to test, since I can't go the other way) that you can Sachesi back down to an official firmware without a backup or restore by overloading it -- I've done this before coming from leaks back to an official OS and it has worked fine, although sometimes you have to do it twice as not all the files update the first time around.
