After a few weeks of waiting around for somehow newer, I took the dive and loaded .700 on top of my .296. Glad I did if for no other reason than the keyboard improving in it's responsiveness. Still not one hundred percent, but it's significantly improved over .296.

So did you install the bars over 296 or did you wipe and install 700 as base. If you have 296 as the base which bars work and don't work? I'm looking forward to a better responsive keyboard again.

I had .296 already running, installed .700 on top, used Chrome App Manager to install the bars in another thread described as "updated". Can't say yet for certain which apps are working and which aren't. Remote File Access through Link doesn't work. Otherwise, the UI tweaks and keyboard provide a more polished experience.

I never had a problem with the keyboard on 10.3.0.296.

I find BlackBerry Protect and Bedside Mode with clock alarms are absolutely essential for a daily driver. That's why I won't update to a Dev OS.

Yeah, looking for an Android alarm app from the Amazon store (or Snap).

"Search" doesn't work, which is a bummer for me. I can do without Intelligent Assistant, but Search is pretty damn useful.

I agree about the clock and bedside mode being essential. Re installed 10.3.0.296 after one day on .700 for the same reason.

Clock works fine on 296 including bedside mode. And if you load up IA from 700 you will have search working too on 296. But it is laggy as hell - at least for me

My alarms work just fine in .296. Use it everyday to wake up. Now I am using the Porche clock too.have used this clock since 10.2.1.19XX. or something like that.

Right. But poster was saying since these DON'T work w/ 700 os he is staying w/ 296.

Which is exactly why I am keeping 296 on my Z30. However I did leap w/ 700 on my Q10.

Keeping fingers crossed another update will drop soon making these two things work then I'm loading on my Z. I really like the changes that came on 700.

So OP, you sideloaded 70 some odd bar files and did not use the 10.3.0.700 installer file from the other post?

Fingers are crossed. I too am hoping another will drop soon. Didn't have much luck installing .700 and getting some of the base apps to work. Back to .296, but I'm willing to give .700 another go as well.

I tried .700 - it is lovely, and it works, but my battery life went down significantly, so I moved back to .296.

I am back to 296 again after testing 700 for a day. I could manage for Alarm by Power Tools but can not survive without phone call. Earlier effort last week, I restored from .296 so ringer was working but restoring of contacts were the reason for backing down. this time, I didn't take backup and thought I will do a clean start by restoring contacts through ContactX but ringer was problem. Now, tired with these manipulations, decided to stay on 296 till a new full OS comes out. I have deleted all files related to 700 from my laptop.

Should have at least loaded the BBM & Android runtimes from 700 to 296. They work and are better.

How about browser and others? Are there more confirmed working 700 bars on 296?

I don't rem the full names and I won't get home til this evening to look. But I believe they all three something like this:

    Sys.bbm.something
    Sys.android.something
And there are two that have "android" in the name you need.

Someone posted a link to them but, I don't rem where it was. Sorry. If no one has supplied by 5:00pm EST pm me I'll send to you. That's when I'll be home.

Browser works, but in some instances I was unable to save a pic - depending if they were embedded in j script or not. But reverted back to 446 browser and was able to save pics no problem.

700 Calendar and contacts do NOT work on 296.

    Not necessarily true.
I loaded the browser and runtime from 700 to 296 and all my android apps did not work properly. When I tried to load just the runtime back to 296, it also didn't make a difference. SO I had to wipe and reload the entire OS.

My opinion? KEEP 296 as a complete working 10.3 OS and wait for a better replacement.

Idk I don't use those two features. But I don't believe they work w/ any 10.3 as of yet. Seems like I read that in both threads.

And @jaydee. May be one of those things that depends on what Android apps. All mine work w/ 700 + paypal & ebay that had stopped on 296 now work w/ 700.

Not sure why you had to wipe and reload. I haven't wiped yet. Even when loading first time. And I restored.

.700 all the way. There is a post "how to get the most out of 700 update" follow it and u will have no problem. Only this that does not work is bedside mode. Alarms work, ringer works, keyboard smooth as butter. And I didn't add the "updated apps " either. Just the 700 autoloader and the missing apps from .296. Definitely daily driver quality.
