For the APK files I have installed (but not necessarily kept), I've been trying to notify them that the app works via the Feedback function that many apps seem to have. I've been asking them to submit to BBW so others running 10.2 or lower could enjoy. Maybe that will create a push for them to take notice?

Yes, great idea. With all the excitement that the leaks bring, one tends to forget these.

Yeah I've been doing that in the past but recently stopped because responses I would get is "we don't currently have future plans for BlackBerry, I will send your request to __ department" it all seems automated. most replies just say they don't have plans for a BlackBerry app.

Most of them don't understand that BlackBerry has a built in android runtime and that they don't have to do anything to get their phones on BlackBerry devices. They think it's another Os, and they'll have to recode it to get it working.

Maybe we will get the play store and all this will go away.... (maybe...)

Well they do have to do something. It may not be much but still more than nothing. Hopefully the op's method will convince some devs to convert their apks to bars

The major problem will be that most apk require native code which pre-10.2.1 OS will not run without debug. So far only skype, flipboard and a few others have been given this permission. So submitting a bar file won't get anywhere
However, it will allow people to install directly from BBW once they update to 10.2.1

That and most Android devs don't give a damn about BlackBerry but I was trying to keep things positive lol.

BlackBerry should do that automatically to all android play store app developers. And then do the porting automatically.
As I said before: Opera and other 3rd party stores do the same....
