here is something very interesting (unless this has been discussed before)

I updated my Z30 to the new 10.2.1.2947 last night, put all my usual apps back but found Candy crush saga kept crashing on load up, after reading a bunch of posts on here there were 2 options, either download to files and install them on the phone to get it working or download the amazon app store version as apparently it worked.

So i did just that, installed the amazon store then candy crush, loaded up fine and i played a round, i failed the round, and the usual pop up appears asking if i want to buy boosters (normally you see cant connect to store or similar) well not this time...........

to my surprise, it started to connect to the amazon store from inside the app on my Z30, and i managed to actually buy a booster and it accepted my purchase and gave me by boosters, so in true crackberry style, check the screen shots below, now either this is already known about or something is happening in the background by Blackberry etc.. anyway enjoy

Amazon store does not Google play,
It's different so it works in BlackBerry 10

yes i know its different, but it works, so in theory we dont need google play, we can just download all apps from amazon store and use amazon to purchase content and apps. i must have missed this, but for me this works very well for android apps.

i think it would be very useful for crackberry to write a blog post about the android situation and Google play vs Amazon store on Blackberry 10, it might help clear up the picture for the average user thinking about coming over to BB10.

Having amazon working doesn't solve the issue with many apps using Google play services for authentication or drm. Getting apks is easy, snap works perfectly. Unfortunately I have a few paid apps that won't install or run since they can't verify that I purchased them.

Well lets keep our fingers crossed; I'm sure BlackBerry is trying hard to find a solution to this "Google Pay" issue.

I think blackberry should make their own separate store for Android apps like Amazon did. This way, we can purchase and use said apps through blackberry.

I wish snap would download all the files. I have several apps that will download and install but it obviously can't connect to Google play and grab the .obb files. Hope snap finds a way around this.

If Google is trying to tie all of their apps to their services in some way, how does this impact those apps that are hosted on Amazon's store where Google Play services are not supported? In theory shouldn't the Amazon version of all these apps have the same problem as the APK installs people are running on their BB10 devices?

I'll have to try it, I have 2 touchpads, that I use the apps on already, but I'll try out bluestacks to see if that makes a difference. Ironically I'm using a "patched" version of an app that I actually paid for...

I think In the cases where the amazon version works without Google play wouldn't the dev have to maintain 2 different versions of the same app? That sounds like a big deterrent, amazon might have the user base to warrant that extra work from the developers but I don't think BlackBerry has that at the moment, hence the reason there aren't that many ports in BBW

    Same for me.

I bought a game on play store (smallworld2) which is great.

Then, following advices from here I managed to make it run (installed the game via snap which recognises my payment and put the obb data at the right place plus installing patched g store and g play services apk).

However, I cannot buy the in-app extension and have no idea how to make it run. It's like the hame cannot make connexion to either the game's servers nor Google serveurs.

Brilliant and I agree a dedicated section inside BB World for tested and debugged android apps.
