We get a little bugged feature there, I noticed that sometimes too.
Workaround that works for me: lock/unlock screen (aka turn off/on the screen), that will make the screen wake up dimed.

Sure it does. Its just a lot smoother and more efficient than the legacy devices. That was one thing I never liked about them. The Z has awesome auto dimming

I agree. The fading effect is really nice.

I agree that they did an incredible job with auto dimming. It's just not noticeable... but the screen is perfect brightness at every lighting condition

Just wish they had a toggle to turn off the light sensor.

To me, it's just another sensor that is always on and polling which uses battery life like the "allow gestures when locked" feature.

They eventually gave us a toggle for the gesture features. I hope they give us a toggle for the light sensor one of these days and allow us to manually set our brightness level.

Make both side of the argument happy by adding the toggle.

It dims on mine. I actually posted this awhile ago. Maybe only in 10.2 but the dim is very subtle. Doesn't do it right away, and does it slowly, classy way.

Did you notice that in the middle of the night, the screen is not blindingly bright? And that under bright light during daytime you can still see the screen? Without auto dimming, it wouldn't be like that.

I passed the dim and the bright and every thing

But that was hard to let the mobile dim I kept holding my finger on the sensor for like 2 or 3 min then I passed it

Maybe the problem from the screen protector?

What kind of screen protector you have ? Typically they would carve a hole where the light sensor is located

That could very well be a reason you are having issues. I would purchase either one from zagg.com or from clear-coat.com both companies are very good quality and offer lifetime warranties.

In fact this saves a lot more than it consumes for about 90% of the users. most of us don't want to adjust brightness by hand every time we leave a building or enter one etc. I had to on my iPhone, such a mess, because the brightness was wrong almost the whole time
