Hey guys, the other day I was viewing some of the pictures I had taken with my z10 and came across this "map view", for the first time. And I found it to be very cool. We can actually have a view of the map of those places from which we took the photos.

Is this a new feature or is it just me coming across something that had been there for sometime..?

It's also a security issue. Post a tagged pic on Facebook etc and they know where you are.

It's only an issue if you make it one. At least you've got that choice. I don't geotag my photos, so it's not an issue for me.

    Also, who's "they?"

I knew there was geotagging, but never saw the map view before. Thanks for the tip.

FWIW, big brother doesn't need your geotagged photos to know where you are. That's just naive

Yes it's very scary that "they" can tell where I have "been" . Especially when I post pictures of myself in front of things like th Eiffel Tower , in an album called Paris vacation.

    1) Photos have all personal data stripped when uploaded to Facebook and other popular social media, so don't worry so much.

    2) It isn't "big brother" you have to worry about. It's thieves and other criminals that are scanning that data and viewing your posts to determine when they have the best chance to take advantage of you or your property.

I'm on 10.3.0.908 with my Passport and I don't see this feature. I am assuming it is under the pictures app. So is this 10.3.1 or a later version of 10.3? Or am I just not looking in the right spot?

You might have to turn on Geo-Tagging in the camera settings, then click the Menu in the bottom left-hand corner of the pictures app ........ then select Map.

You would find it under "properties" from any picture you have allowed to be Geotagged ,on the bottom right of the picture you will see the 3 dots, go to properties then you will see a blue circle that says "view in maps" , from there you will see the location in bb maps. You will also be able to navigate to that picture by pressing the arrow symbol next to the location found on the map, this means just like in android you can navigate to a longitude and latitude position not just addresses....this support was added to 10.3....I have been waiting for this since 10.0 fyi

Thanks guys, but no luck. I do have Geotagging on. I tried looking at the properties in the picture app. With no luck. The pictures show as tagged with location data does show up in the storymaker previews in the picture app, so the geotag data is there. Just no map option. No biggie. I thought it was a cool feature and look forward to seeing it in a future update.

You have to access the properties of a specific picture not the properties of the picture folder or the story make....

It might be carrier specific if you still do not see it under the "properties " of each picture taken.Try taking a new picture with geotagging on and see if it's there
