    Please help me to know if I have to upgrade to this release. Z10 STL-2

    Posted via CB10
    As you can read here and every other post, upgrade may or may not cause you an issue. This blitz business and autoloaders is great opportunity to grab an update without having to wait for carrier eternity. The most important thing is to study how to revert. Then if you upgrade you can always go back to an earlier version of 10.3.2.

    What do You expect to see when 100 ppl installed the same OS(10.3.2) even on the same model of the phone but it looks like we use not only different devices but different OS or platform.I didn"t see this kind of inconsistent on 10.2.1 or 10.3.1,bcs the last two version were polished and complete. At least for me.You know what,one year ago I didn"t post bcs I new BB was fresh OS and I was waiting for every leak eagerly with hope and patience,but today any release should be better and more polished.
    Really?

    You must not read these forums much.

    Every OS that is leaked or officially released gets posts from about half that say such-and-such release sucks - bad battery drain, wi-fi and mobile data connection drops all the time; while the other half gets the best battery life they ever had and no connection problems what so ever.

    And I mean for every... single... OS... version that gets released you see that kind of experience spread.

    You saw the same with every 10.3.1 release, and 10.2.1 release regardless of how far along development was. 10.2.0 and 10.1.0 too.

    BTW, this wasn't limited to BB10 either. If you were around in the BBOS days of looking for the latest OS 7, 6, 5 or 4 builds from various carriers around the world, you would have seen pretty much the very same experience spread - from fantastic to awful for the very same builds.

    I have this loaded on my Verizon Z10, Classic and a factory unlocked Passport running on the T Mobile network. I used Sachesi to load it over an earlier version of 10.3.2 X- I have had no issues with all 3 units- good battery life etc. Its a keeper for me.

    I will say that 2339 runs great on my Z10 -3.

    But I also used an autoloader and only restored some of my apps and nothing else.

    I had loaded an earlier 10.3.2 build and did restore system setting from 10.3.1, and that caused some problems. Not big ones, just a few minor issues.

    I think a lot depends on how an upgrade was performed. More problems seemed to be reported from those who got OTA updates to 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 from 10.2.1 than anything else. The BlackBerry support forums are full of such posts about problems with those kinds of updates.

    It is not correct for you to make this statement -,858 may be better for your device, with your configuration and usage patterns - but to say that "2339 eats the battery" is misleading and not generically true.

    Many people have posted that 2339 was better for them on battery consumption than 858.

    Each user experiences different performance with each OS, depending on their individual situation.

    Suggest you check to see if:

    1) you have any apps that are running in the background - or running when minimized when you don't want them to do so
    2) your email or social networking accounts are set such that continual syncing is driving PIM services crazy
    3) your display brightness and timeout is set so that display is not eating up battery
    4) system is taking an abnormally high amount if CPU usage (which will also eat up battery) - if this is the case, you may be suffering from a bad installation of the OS

    You can also try a different radio - I find the 841 radio to be better for battery than 2240 .

    I have found 2339 with 841 radio to be the best on battery of all the 10.3.2 versions I have run (which is all of them)

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    It looks like in the last 48 hours this is what my battery usage looks like:
    PIM Services 33%
    System 28%
    Display 15%
    Standby 8%
    input services 6.9%

    That seems like a lot of battery for PIM services and the System.

    How do i change the email syncing settings (if i open one up it shows me that it is IMAP, using push and a sync interval of 30 minutes)
    Carddav and Caldav settings are on 30 minute sync.

    CPU usage shows me that the following:
    System 32%
    PIM services 21%
    Browser 15%
    Standby 8.4%
    Input 8.4%

    These all seem quite high to what i would have thought (but i don't really know to be honest)

    Brightness is currently on about 20%
    time out is on 30 seconds

    No apps running in background that i am aware of

    Thank you for your reply, can you please help more by giving me a step by step tutorial in changing the "continual syncing" of "email or social networking accounts"

    Jeremy,

    I have two email accounts - one syncs every 5 minutes, one every 15 minutes. Over the past 12 hours, my numbers are:
    Display = 15%
    System = 10%
    PIM services = 2.1%
    Standby = 3.7%

    Sometimes when PIM goes berserk, try deleting the email and/or social accounts - then set them up again. PIM service accounts can sometimes send PIM services into a "loop" (constantly working) - deleting and resetting the account can cure the problem.

    After deleting the accounts use Accounts Cleaner from BlackBerry World to make sure that there's no additional traces of old accounts left ed in system. Good luck.

    LOL. Glad to see others remember the SOS from the Legacy devices as well. Back in the earlier days BlackBerryowners attacked other BlackBerry owners because Apple and Android were not around - yet.

    @OP, It's your choice as long as you know that once you go 10.2.xxx, you can't go back to 10.3.1. Personally, I had battery issues. So, I reinstalled the OS thru an Autoloader and "gradually" re-added apps over a few days while the OS was settling. While some Android apps are useful/cool, they can also be a battery hog.
