@heading4tomorrow I messed up the 1228 update by loading the wrong radio file and soft bricking the Z30. This was an experiment in caution and diligence. An ounce of prevention, as they say....

    I have a Q5 type SQR100-2 (Europe).

I have looked up some extra info indicating that 3G works on different settings so maybe not a good idea to install leak for Q5 SQR100-1 (United States) ?

    Thanks for reply

I have installed on my SQR100-2 (on the EE network) and since the 2228 and now 2234 I constantly have the "voicemail" icon depicting that I have "1" message, when really I don't!

Thats my only grip at the moment that I just have to live with till the next leak / update (which hopefully will fix that).

One general noob question, if I zipped and uploaded a folder containing signed .bar files of an OS, in this case Z30STA100-5 - 10.2.1.2234 (software release 10.2.1.2160), can it be used by anyone who downloaded it to perform a non-destructive upgrade via Sachesi?

Am asking this because what happened to me recently, where Sachesi in my PC failed to locate the OS.

    Toobs623, thanks for the leak.
Thurask, thanks for the links as usual.
I'm trying to use Sachesi to download it but I wanted to be sure I'm getting it right.
I have a Z10 STL100-1 and when I choose it on sachesi, it tells me "Success no updates available"
However, when I choose Z30 and variant STA100-5, it brings up the update.
My question is can I go ahead and download this for my Z10?
(I am a new user of sachesi). Thanks

In case anyone wants. Here are all folders containing the Upgrade app bars, OS for all models and radio files for all models. Just copy the radio and OS files for your model into the folder with the Upgrade app bars before installing with the latest Sachesi (currently 1.1.3.)

It's a 7Zip file so you need to extract it first. You can install the free Mega App from BlackBerry World if you want to download it using your phone.

If you don't want all the carrier directed bloat, next time use the debrick method and only load the core os and radio file. Then you can selectively grab, via sachesi, the updated bar files you want to add that were updated.

This way, you don't load needless apps like all the language files you don't use, first launch, retail demo mode, tutorial etc...

My battery is quite good and stable now on this build than the previous build. 15+ hours on a full charge with moderate-heavy usage.

battery drain is expected for the next 24-48Hrs . Can be heavy, moderate or light, but WILL happen.
Just let your device settle a bit, plug it to a wall charger and, if available, connected to a wifi network. Should reduce the drain time.

I have a question unrelated with this post, but it would be very helpful your advice, Ive been having problems using BB Link to make back up and restore, for some reason BB Link doesnt connect to my Z10 and neither others Z10. After uninstall and reinstall BB Link and Desktop Manager to be sure of having all the drivers on my Pc, I hadnt a good result .... After that I opened the Desktop Manager and my surprise was it connected! I could make the back up and restore without any problem, Have some of you passed for this too?

    Question:
Has anyone who were using STA100-5 but did not get LTE started receiving LTE by using the latest 10.2.1.2160 (OS 10.2.1.2234, RADIO 10.2.1.2235)

Ouch, I am glad you recovered well! The wrong radio did in fact cause a lot of problems around here. I tend to stick with the radio that is included with the release and never had problems that way.

For some reason, when I try to download files from Bitcasa now, whereas I used to be able to just download them, now I get 2 new screens:
    1) telling me "Unable to open sys.data.carrier_data-10.2.1.312.bar
    This may be a file format that Bitcasa cannot open, or the file may be copyright protected";
and 2) asking me to login or create a Bitcasa account.
This happens whether I click the link directly or I paste the URL. I use Firefox in Win7, and haven't changed any settings since the last time I successfully down loaded a Bitcasa file (maybe a month ago).

I see that others have had no problem with it. But I was wondering if Bitcasa changed its protocols or anything recently.
(It's not an urgent issue right now, since I can live happily with OS 10.2.1.2228.)

Try copy and paste the links from the first post (not clicking them). Should be OK.
