The past few leaked builds I have a issue where when the screen is off, holstered or locked on my Z30 the music will begin to skip but will resume when turned on. Anybody else experiencing this issue besides me? It would be helpful if anyone had any solutions/fixes it gets kind of annoying.

I don't holster or lock it while the music is on, but the screen does go off and I haven't had any issues.

I had this problem in past while I was on Z10, usually the short-term workaround was to pause and unpause the music with the mute button while having the display still off. But I feel your pain, it was really irritating.

From time to time I encounter same issue. At my end it depends how phone is orientated. It mostly happens when my phone is upside down i.e. in jeans and rarely happens when holding phone in my hand.

Besides rebooting the phone I don't have a proper solution or work around for it.

I have a Z10 (STL100-3) on AT&T. When I was running 10.3.1.1151, I noticed that the media player would have very brief dropouts occasionally no matter whether I was listening thru speakers, headphones or streaming on BT. Since moving to 1154, this has cleared up, but a few songs break up when listening on speakers. It doesn't happen on headphones or BT. Pausing and playing or restarting the media player does not clear the issue

Happened to me on 10.3 the fix for me was just to pause and unpause. Still kinda irritating though.

I know exactly what you're talking about, OP. It's not all the time, but when I'm listening to something and the screen goes dark even WITHOUT me locking it, it sometimes starts to skip. I think it's a minor bug in these new leaks. It'll probably be fixed when an OFFICAL 10.3.1 is released for our Z-devices.

I run with casca run and Sirius xm playing. I've found that the only way to avoid pausing is to keep Sirius active, not minimized. No skipping or pausing anymore once you minimize it it will pause or skip every 10 minutes or so. Now I only need for touch the app every 1:30 or so when the time out message pops up.

I also disabled notifications on the Sirius app from android settings since disabling it in notification settings doesn't seem to work for sirius. These steps are nothing new to 10.3 I've had to do some combination of these since 10.2.1.

I have the problem. Rebooting makes it go away. I will try the pause and start since that is a faster solution.

Had the problem since installing 10.3.1
Music would skip a few songs then start playing and keep doing this repeatedly. Yesterday I was fiddling with my earphones and it skipped, so I had a hunch. I bent the earphone cable and the song skipped again, kept bending it and every time I bent those original ipod earphones the song skipped. That's how I found out its the earphones, or at least they are part of the problem. I also have an issue with the music sometimes playing glitchy but that problem is easily resolved by a pause/play.

Is it a skip or does it just shuffle the music. For me it was just shuffling the music

This only happens to me when I play music off of my SD card and I fast forward or rewind. It doesn't always happen and the only fix is to restart the music app

Occasionally it'll happen when I toggle on/off airplane mode. Same fix- music app restart and it's ok

I've noticed this too. I thought it was Pandora messing up or something like that. I'm glad it's not just me, as that hopefully means BlackBerry is aware of it and working on it.

I've also notice audio breaks up for a split second when I change the volume up or down. Very odd, but it comes right back.

I've noticed this too and I think I've narrowed it down to the phone being in power saving mode.
I can consistently reproduce this issue if my battery is below 20% and in power saving mode. Once the screen turns off, it goes into a holster or is placed face down my music starts skipping.

As someone above noted, it skips when the phone is facing down, which can enable power saving features in 10.3 with advanced interactions.

It might be from the phone under clocking itself or some other forms of limiting processing power to extend battery life.

Which Bluetooth headset do you use? I've been on the fence about getting Bluetooth headphones for running

Ditto on the power save mode. Once you wake up the phone, the problem goes away.

But something must trigger this problem initially. That is, the problem isn't always present.

I've had some skipping issue but not because of screen going off or on, and not exclusive to the music app, Pandora as well

I'm running OS 10.3.1.938 and experience the same issue. It's frustrating because rebooting is the only solution until it starts acting up again (which is soon).
