So we're not gonna get call blocking for another 2 years? Does BlackBerry want to fail? How do you know this?

    Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.2228, Z30, Z10, iP5, SGS3
I (and many many others) had a dozen Twitter Conversations with Michael Clewley and Tim Neil in the last Months. And in the Community Forum, some BlackBerry Devs said (well between the Lines as they are not allowed to tell anything specifically+officially), that they weren't able to make the specific API safe enough for Public Release.

Remember that those kind of Functions need Deep Access aka Headless Access? If they do it wrong, some not-so-nice Devs could (eventually!!) steal whatever Data anyway. Well Ok, if it's not safe enough then keep the API and code it into the OS.

    But: Officially they say:
There is not enough Demand for it, to make a OS integrated Option instead. I mean, since Months People keep going back to the old BBOS or leaving the BlackBerry Platform at all because of this.

BlackBerry keep making the same mistake for now.

Well I still dream (I have lost most of my hope when it comes to bb) that they holding Information regarding this Feature Back and it will be in the Final 10.3 Version.

But officially: Currently no Plan for it.

And for that 10.5/10.6 thing: Sorry was not clear enough: Just extremely wild guessing. Depending on the behavior BlackBerry has shown in the Past and how long they take to get to their Customers. And of course that they will focus the next Time on Enterprise Business and ignoring the normal Consumer needs.

Thanks for that but im really hoping that as you said that they will keep the API but integrate call blocking within the OS.

That is probably why it isn't available on the phone itself.

The Problem is, not every Carrier allows blocking specific Numbers. For most it's only "All or Nothing". Some Carriers allows a maximum between 5-10 Numbers only (There was the Rumor of a single Carrier that allows a maximum of 50 Numbers AFAIR). And in addition to the Limitation, many take Extra Money for it. The cynical is, BlackBerry knows that for a long time now.

That's the whole Problem and the Reason why we need a OS integrated Option.

Seems like we get the chance! I saw red, green and the classic cyan!
    Would definitely be great!

It's an SDK... so things are (to quote MC) "in flux", we can still hope but it's no more a confirmation than the 10.3 beta build is

I believe Michael mentioned it would not be customizable. It would be nice, though.

But his above quoted statement was made after that, so there's a small chance they're still considering it

Think in terms of not customizable by the user but
developers should be able to customize the accent colors.. (since that has been on the SDK roadmap for ages).

Looking at the screenshots, I would love to have the different core apps use their own different core accent colors (e.g the calendar green doesn't look to bad IMHO) At the end ... colors are always a subjective matter. Keep in mind tastes differ.

EDIT: Found out the feature got renamed... wasn't it called accent colors?
    https://developer.blackberry.com/nat...loads/roadmap/ - N9 - App Colorization
"To allow for easier differentiation and stronger branding of applications, it will be possible to define colors to be applied to Cascades applications and their controls."

I'm excited for all these bits, finally correcting and making bb10 more usable, but nothing in the bits he's released so far is ground breaking. I thought this is were there were bringing the big guns.

Except that AT&T allows it on my son's Galaxy S2. So they let Samsung have the capability.

I'd like the ability to block all "unknown" numbers.

You can't get it to run with just data on this build. Calling, texting and data is a no go with this build for Z30
