Just got a notification of a new post from Michael Clewley's channel blog. Always a good sign that it's getting closer when he starts to blog about a new OS release. This is what he has to say: "Well..it's Friday, the radio had some sweet mixes and we are reading the 1st 10.3 SDK beta.

So I wanted to let you all know that my next few posts up to the release of the SDK will be focused on some of the new things you'll see in 10.3.

....but don't get too excited I'm not going to be talking about the crazy secrets just the little things that make our lives easier!"

Hopefully he drops hints on things we don't know about. I don't want to hear about the new camera screen or music player button.

In a follow up post from Michael moments ago on his Channel it looks like we will be getting a series of posts from him on the new features of OS 10.3 SDK, starting from next week.
This is his latest post: "Alright I've written up a list of posts that I'll be doing but here's the deal folks. You gotta follow the rules

    - I won't be talking release times, so please don't ask
    - The list is all I'm talking about, you'll see them in the SDK release. Anything else will come later and falls into not talking about it.
    - Be respectful

Simple rules gets many posts next week. :-D "

Release time is easy to guess: September 2014 as a leak/gold release.

Looking at what happened with 10.2

More importantly, does this mean we won't see 10.2.2 afterall?

It seems to confirm that, or he would mention it, no?

I highly doubt it! It's July, if there was 10.2.2 I would say September but it looks like there isn't or he would have talked about it.

Plus it doesn't take 4 months to go from developer SDK to official release.

What makes you think there is no 10.2.2? SDKs are only released when there are API changes. BB can release more polished apps as part of an upgrade.

It takes 3-4 months for a BlackBerry 10 OS to go from public beta to official launch.
Since it seems this won't launch with any new device, it could very well be that they launch it in August, along with a beta of the 64bit 10.3.1 SDK.

umm but those ARE new to anyone who didn't get the leak, meaning like 90% of people out there... enjoy the leaks, but don't let them spoil you so that you're disappointed by "new" features that aren't new to you anymore- it's part of the trade off for getting it early...

and the camera is a huge improvement, so they should want to talk about it.. but then again, he said he's not dropping any big secrets so I wouldn't expect much anyway...

I didn't install the leak but I read about it on the forum. I understand what you're saying about it being new for others but I'm still hoping for something "new". You know what I mean? :-)

i sent few emails to Clewley for the last couple of weeks and he said all his team are fully committed in the long run of BB10 and they have all the measures and the feedback ready to be addressed to set the new goals for the upcoming OS update, I would suppose he was referring to the 10.3 which will be up not too long, I won't say July but.. it won't be too long till November I suppose. I'd speculate between July to August.

in the meantime i'll just sit & watch. BB10 is taking its hard route back to the tarmac, give it a go for now.
