Something's not right with my mobile hotspot..
    I can't turn it on
And it messed my BlackBerry connectivity, I have to click restore to default, then turn off & on Wifi again to get connected to BlackBerry data

    Z10STL100-1/10.2.0.1047

More or less my experience with 1047 on STL100-3. Hotspot settings are not saved and attempting to turn it on shuts down WiFi. I smell a bug waiting to be squashed.

Hotspot will and always did shut down wifi. If you had wifi availability you wouldn't need hotspot

Try switching to airplane mode, turn airplane mode off, then try hotspot again. Try deleting and re-entering your apn (the same one). Hotspot did not work for me until I did one or both...

Well, I flashed the 811 radio and hotspot seems to be working fine now. I'm attaching the radio autoloader for the STL-2-3-4 for whoever wants to try it out.

This autoloader is non-destructive as well, meaning I didn't have to restore any of my data. But you should just in case anything goes wrong.

    Enjoy! Cheers

Strange, I am using the 811 radio with the 1047 OS and I'm still getting that error message regarding Hotspot not available in region. Any other components you used from 810?

Hmmmm... Ok. I turned off the hotspot and tried to turn it back on and got that message back. But I rebooted my phone and was able to access hotspot again. Weird. I guess it's a one time deal type of thing per boot.

I wonder if this is by design, seems like the ability to tether or not tether is by carrier

I could pretty much use hotspot on the 810 so it's pretty much a bug on this build.

Mine works, gets to a certain point and times out regarding no data (inactivity timeout) even though it was in the middle of a download. Quite interesting.

Hotspot doesn't work at all here, but bluetooth tethering works fine. Bridge to my PlayBook works fine as well. Z10 on AT&T.

Dudde!! I think I can add some steps on this one.

    0. Install the full .810 OS ( .810 OS / .811 radio)
    1. Configure your mobile hotspot; you can also configure whatever settings you want
    2. Backup Settings either using Link or Sachesi
    3. Installing 1047 with 811 radio, you can use WuWei's (B@stard builds) recent build
    4. Do a Security Wipe
    5. Restore Settings via Sachesi
    6. Reboot
    7. Profit

Hi Everyone, I think I have a partial fix in this issue. But I dunno if it's going to work on you guys.

It seems that BBRY did a bad coding regarding the contract / prepaid APN selection. I think some of you have noticed this

Let us know if hotspot/tether works with 10.2.0.1047-img_00000001.png

It seems that if I select the last "instance" of "Contract" and opened Hotspot, it runs. However this can only be opened once a reboot so you need to so so If you wish to open it again.

I think that only the last entry actually "references" to the correct APN and the others might be to "wrong" APN's. This bug MUST be eliminated

    So :

    1.Reboot phone
    2. Wait until everything initializes
    3. Go to Mobile Networks and APN
    4. Choose the last occurrence of Contact/ Prepaid and Save
    5. Open Hotspot
    6. Repeat Step 1 if you want to open another session.

I am using Z10 on Rogers LTE.

I used to have only a 512MB plan, APN is greyed out and mobile hotspot is NOT working even with the escreen workaround here.

Called Rogers, their policy is mobile hotspot requires at least a 1GB data plan.

I changed to a 2GB LTE data plan. Then I re-installed 10.2, and APN is now NOT greyed out, and mobile hotspot is working, without any escreen changes.

Also on the APN settings screen, I only have APN (not greyed out, can change), Username (blank), Password (blank). I don't see the information on mobile plan/contract/prepaid, etc, on previous post.

Just to share my experience on Rogers.

Problem I noticed after some tests is that the inactivity timer does not seem to work. It will disconnect at whatever timeout I set, like 15 mins or 60 mins, regardless of quite heavy upload/download activity.

Not sure if others observe the same behavior on other networks? Or it is just me? Or it is just me on Rogers?

Edit: I already tried restarting the phone
