All excellent advice - thanks, Hotfix. I've been in the habit of doing a full backup with BB Link every couple of weeks, or more often if I've added a lot of new files to my phone. I generally delete the 2 oldest ones as I go, and keep several saved, in case I need them.

I put the password back on my phone, and set up Picture Password (fun!). I'm not sure yet if I'm going to add the encryption back yet or not. If I plan to travel with it (other than local commuting) or scan personal ID documents to it, I would definitely put the encryption back. But right now I'm a little scared of losing what I have on the phone. Since I don't currently have anything like mobile banking or credit card info or passports on it yet, if I were to lose or misplace it, there's not much there of interest to a thief. Point taken though, better to be safe than sorry, and I probably will encrypt the whole thing again.

AutoSync...... ugh. When I first got the phone last summer, I'd tried to AutoSync files and photos with BB Link, but it was a mess-- I ended up with 2 of everything on the phone, and then all of them would sync back to the PC, and I'd have 4 of everything there... etc. I also discovered that it will only sync music files using either iTunes or Windows Media Player, neither of which I have ever used. So limiting! So with all of that, I've turned AutoSync off entirely, and I simply copy new files and photos from the phone to a backup drive manually now. It's a little more labour-intensive but easier to control what I've got where.
You could use free syncing software like SyncToy from Microsoft to sync folders on your device and PC in a true 2-way sync process. Link does 2 x 1 way syncs which is why things can get crazy as deletes are not replicated and the ongoing syncs don't always seem to acknowledge pre-existing data.

Thanks, HotFix, I'm not familiar with that (BB10 app or PC program?), but I'll check it out.

SyncToy is a Microsoft tool you install to your computer. I used it for a while, even had a tutorial written over at BlackBerryForums.com - BlackBerry Support Community Forums about how to set it up to keep one's media card files in sync with their PC. I've since decided Dropbox is much easier.

Here's the link for that tutorial. SyncToy has probably been update some since I wrote that so it may not be 100% accurate anymore.

Is this why I'm not seeing the volume bar with incremental up steps? It's only visible when I long press.

No you don't need to. The full autoloader already contains the radio files

STL 100-1 here, updated to .2141 couple of days ago, seems the battery percentage bug reappeared (had the same issue before). Regardless how long i leave the charger plugged in, the battery charging stops at 86%. Any idea how to re-calibrate the battery counter?

I believe that if you run your battery down until the phone shuts itself off and then charge it back up uninterrupted, it should recalibrate.

Remove the battery for about 60-90 mins then replace. You may have to do it a couple times but that should reset the battery meter. Running the battery to zero can damage a lithium ion battery. I don't recommend that.

Sometimes I think the radio file link should just be removed from the first post. Anyone who needs that only should be able to figure out how to split it from the full OS.
