Isn't it the same as to select "Upgrade" on Sachesi and install the 154 files?
Essentially, but Sachesi sometimes locks up on me when downloading. This method only uses Sachesi (or Darcy's Tools) to extract the apps and install them (or DDPB/Chrome).

Ok, so what will be the easiest way for me to get the full OS on my device? I was going to go the Sachesi route and just drag and drop the 2 files found in an earlier post but now I'm reading that that isn't the full OS? Would it be better/easier if I went the autoloader route? Is there anyway to get the full OS on my device using Sachesi without having to sideload all of the app bar files? Thanks for everyone's insight so far!

Below are excerpts from posts #463 and #486 which should help:

If you update with only the debrick OS file and radio file, you will not update the OS completely. You also need to load the updated non-core bundled apps, using the newer BAR files. About 25 of those have changed since 10.2.1.1925.

So you can either load all 152 of those, or just the updated ones. Here are the base OS and radio file links posted by thurask, see below for the updated BAR file list:

    (Links reformatted)

Here's the list of which of the above to use to upgrade your device, minus the updated BAR files (see below):

    Z30: 1st and 5th
    Q10/Q5: 1st and 6th
    STL100-1: 2nd and 7th
    STL100-2/3: 1st and 3rd
    STL100-4: 1st and 4th

And here is the list of updated BAR files over 10.2.1.1925, posted by toobs623.

(If your currently-installed OS is earlier than 10.2.1.1925, then you need to either load ALL the 10.2.1.2141 BAR files, or figure out which ones have changed from the OS you currently have installed):

These are the upgraded bar files:
    STA100-X.10.2.1.2141x2142
    com.evernote-5.2.1.394
    sys.android.shell-10.2.1.136
    sys.android-10.2.1.136
    sys.camera-10.200.2.1
    sys.chat-10.2.1.254
    sys.chatblend-10.2.1.255
    sys.data.carrier_data-10.2.1.295
    sys.firstlaunch-10.2.1.88
    sys.notification_card-10.2.1.9
    sys.phone_settings-10.2.1.316
    sys.phone-10.2.1.336
    sys.pim.attachments.card-10.2.1.237
    sys.pim.calendar.viewer.eventcreate-10.102.2.235
    sys.pim.calendar.viewer.ics-10.102.2.235
    sys.pim.calendar.viewer.nav-10.102.2.235
    sys.pim.calendar-10.102.2.235
    sys.pim.contacts-10.5.201.235
    sys.pim.email.card-10.2.1.246
    sys.pim.email.composer.card-10.2.2.235
    sys.pim.messages-10.2.1.237
    sys.pim.provider.traveler-10.2.1.9
    sys.pim.remember-10.2.1.235
    sys.rcse-10.2.1.232
    sys.settings.accounts-1.0.1.49
    sys.settings-10.2.1.186
    sys.smartcalling-10.2.1.271

    Also the radio.

After you do the update, do a spot-check on your app bars using Sachesi to ensure that you have the latest BAR files installed:

So if one connects Sachesi to an upgraded device, and the following BAR files do not have the versions listed, then you did not do a complete update. Picking a few random examples:

com.evernote 5.2.1.394 (This sorts to the top when I run Sachesi on my Z10)
    sys.android.shell 10.2.1.136
    sys.android 10.2.1.136
    sys.chatblend 10.2.1.255
    sys.phone 10.2.1.336
    sys.settings 10.2.1.186

I'm having the same prob.. loaded all the bars thru sachesi but the SW release ans radio remains the same.

Usually when that happens it means that the device rejected the update on boot and reverted to the previous OS.

One common reason for that is that you tried to install an OS variant that is not compatible with your device.

Just want to ask how can I extract the signed file from the bar file of the radio as I'm trying to create a Radio Autoloader.
BAR files are actually compatible with ZIP files.

Change the filename extension to ZIP, and you will find the .signed file inside the ZIP file.

WOW, my app monitor says I have 1 day and 15 hours left on my battery at 73%. I have never seen that and certainly not less than 1/2 a day after an upgrade. Add the 3-5x improved download speeds on HSPA and I wonder how good this will be once it settles in.

Why so many issues with sideloading?

I don't know, I don't have many problems with it.

Remember, none of this is an officially-supported procedure, so people should feel comfortable with some experimentation and learning-curve, or just wait for their carrier to release a new OS OTA.

    Yes.

How do I find and download the other 152 BAR files?

If no one has uploaded them anywhere, then what most of us do is either extract them from the appropriate "debrick" file (links and instructions given earlier), or use Sachesi's "Search" function set to "Upgrade" and download them from Blackberry's production servers.

I recommend the first option. It's just one file to download and is much quicker to download, and it doesn't put excessive load on Blackberry's servers with people downloading the same set of files over and over.

So, I connected my device to Sachesi and went to the Install tab. I first click and dragged the radio file into Sachesi and it immediately installed on my Z10. Then, I clicked and dragged the main OS file into Sachesi and it reset my phone and now the progress box says:
    "Firmware Update"
    "Sending 10.2.1.2141 Core OS"
    "(0%)"

It's been like this for a while now. Does it normally take this long? Did I go wrong somewhere?

So, why doesn't a nondestructive upgrade load in all the new apps, since they are obtained in the signed files? Is that true for actual OTA upgrades, too, not just with Sachesi? If so, how does any typical end user ever get the new apps with the OTA upgrades? Most non-Crackberry people don't do autoloads.

If you use either the OTA procedure or BlackBerry Link to download an official release from your carrier, then you will get all the updated app BARs. The official mechanisms take care of all of that.

Remember that these procedures we are discussing here are not designed by Blackberry for end-users, they are either designed for internal use (autoloaders) or are 3rd-party hacks to do things that were never intended to be done that way by Blackberry. (Sachesi, Darcy's tools, Chrome plugin, DDPB, etc.)

So there is some degree of complexity involved, especially if you want to do a non-destructive "upgrade" install.

Consider it a point of pride that you will know how to do something the average user does not.

If you haven't yet restarted and Sachesi is still able to communicate with the device, then shouldn't be a problem to restart the update.

In general, if an OS does not install properly on a BB10 device, it will automatically roll back to the previously-installed OS on restart.

Always good to do backups beforehand, regardless.

Thanks! I got tired of waiting so I closed out sachesi, disconnected my device from the computer then I plugged it back in and started Sachesi up again and dragged the OS into the install window and this time it immediately started installing, it's currently at 18% installed.

I believe there are 2 phases in the install progress indication in Sachesi for each file.

The first one, I'm guessing, shows progress of copying the file to the device. The second one (guessing again) shows the progress of installing the file. (It's not just a straight copy, files have to be extracted and copied to various places, I believe)

You may have issues with something conflicting with the USB connection, either a USB device driver for a different device or something that is interfering with "USB networking". That could include a personal firewall, VPN client, etc.

Have you used Sachesi much before on that computer?

Does BlackBerry Link work reliably on that computer?

Did anyone else notice that the android runtime is half the size of the one in 1925? Might just be some legacy 2.x stuff got removed, just seemed interesting.

That is interesting. Glad to see BlackBerry tightening up the codes.

Its important for the os to be light on resources yet being powerful and smooth.

This is a brand new computer, today is actually the first day I used both Link and Sachesi. Earlier I was having issues with link recognizing my phone via USB connection because I wanted to backup my device. It was connected over wifi but wouldn't connect at all via USB so I rebooted my device and link saw my device after that. I've actually been a little worried that maybe Windows 8.1 is messing me up with this update. We'll see, after restarting the update again, it's now at 58%. What happens if I'm unable to install the OS and I've already installed the updated radio file?

I tried to load the 2 bar files via DDPB earlier, but nothing changed. My Q10 remains on SW .537/ 1925/1926. I am trying to install again via DDPB. I might have done something wrong earlier. i loaded the radio first. Now, I'm loading the OS first.

Any idea why it did not work out earlier?

DDPB says "500 invalid action..install 2" ..what does that mean?
