This is copied from the comments on the news page.....
"Just make sure to put it on Airplane Mode, make a full backup with BB Link, and then take out the media card. Close up BB Link, then double-click the exe and it will open up command prompt, may ask for your device password if you have one, then continue to write to the ROM.

After that, battery pull, put in your media card, boot back up, finish on-screen set up, and go back to Airplane mode, then re-import the backup."
I did NOT remove my media card and everything is still ok.
What might be the problem with not removing?

Thank you phill. Still contemplating on updating or not. Haven't had any major issues with my Z10 so far
Ohh by the way no carrier pushed updates in Kenya so have to make do with such updates that the good people post.

Since applying the update about 36 hours ago... I just had my first random reboot... so not all of my problems have subsided. I'm seriously considering returning my Zed and going back to iOS or Android. God that hurts just to type it.

    Not good.

What I think sucks the most is coming from a device that was working to a device that is having issues like random reboots. It's just frustrating and not something that was known before getting the device. I kept mine in hopes that the reboots would be fixed via software and was hopeful the software update was the answer. I know it's not official for the VZW phone, but I still have hope that an official one does drop that resolves the rebooting issue because it does get old.

I was able to install this on my STL100-4 aka Verizon Z10.

So far so good, except for the audio bug.

Give it a time, BlackBerry might not know it now but they will in the coming months.
I had my Z10 for almost a week now and I gotta say at first I was really so Impressed, but
when the battery life is at talk I was alarmed at how fast it drains. My Z10 doesn't experience
any Random Reboots maybe it's a problem from where you get your phone, try showing it to them that your phone reboots randomly maybe they could fix it. Don't return your Zed it's a great new phone that just needs time to work on & to make it bigger and grow. Don't lose hope.

I installed this on my Verizon Z10. I noticed that the Backup/Restore with BB Link does not restore sideloaded apps, so I had to reinstall those. Not a huge deal. Unfortunately, the sideloaded apps that were crashing after displaying the permissions screen are still crashing with this release.
