Do you think BB would ever admit to a hardware fault and do a recall? It would sink the stock and destroy whatever image the company has left.
I'm totally convinced that Blackberry knows when to maintain a strategic silence. I wouldn't know if these problems are caused by a faulty batch of mass produced components coming off a particular assembly line or by a microscopic software glitch hidden deeply within the OS.
In reading these forums the rebooting issue seems overwhelming because Crackberry members come to a single place to share their version of the problem and to vent. I think that in actuality, Blackberry likely sees too low a proportion of these defects to risk getting blasted by the media for admitting that something might be wrong. I'm sure they'd rather count on us to be diligent about using our warranties to (eventually) secure good equipment.
I have two Z10's. One has NEVER rebooted itself. The other has only rebooted itself twice in a 5 week period (and it was running a combination of sideloaded android and native apps in my case- both times- otherwise totally stable , even running leaks).
However, I lived through the headache of having my previous 9900 go through the "leave on charger overnight and never ever wake up again syndrome" one month after I bought it. A warranty exchange produced a "living" but eternally rebooting 9900.(Even Crackberry Kevin went through the "death while charging" problem with his 9900, I think). All I ever did read on these forums was how nobody was having this problem with their phones, yet there was a clear concentration of people definitely having their 9900's dying on them mysteriously (or eternally rebooting). Blackberry NEVER admitted to this problem. I took me three warranty exchanges to wind up with a perfect 9900, and for a few weeks, I was doubting my loyalty to Blackberry.
From a business standpoint, I feel it was safer for Blackberry to risk letting me go as a customer than to publicly admit any knowledge of a problem because the net loss was minimal compared to the potential lost business from being up front about a defect (another case in point: Apple's AntennaGate?).
In the end, I'm still here (9 Blackberry devices have passed through my family since 2008) and I'm running with the latest BB device, so I guess I'm either a masochist or more of a fan than I thought I was!
Blackberry seems to know when to remain silent. I think it's standard business procedure for the industry.
But from what I've read, Blackberry also seems to handle customer service with class- so this is a redeeming quality.
I think its up to us to make sure we don't waste our warranties while we have them.

In the grand scheme of things, the (very real) rebooting problem might turn out to be so statistically insignificant that it might only get resolved when enough warranty replacements occur that the bad batches get weeded out of the Z10 gene pool.

Hi, I am gonna try to install this leaked OS. Do I need to do a security wipe before loading this OS or just a simple update will do? Or does the auto loader does a clean install by itself? Definitely will do a back up of my stuff in bblink

Without the payment option, can I still pay for apps in app world?

LTE seems normal outside my neighborhood. Can't say if the signal is better or worse since I don't usually pay any attention to it unless I'm having issues.
I did download a few games to test out my connection and they downloaded fast enough for me. They didn't disconnect while downloading or do anything out of the ordinary.

Same "no data" issue on bmobile (Trinidad)...downgraded to official 10.0.10.99 (second time this week)...
a TSTT rep changed my 4G BIS plan to a "Z10 plan" after i downgraded to 10.0.10.99, I wonder if this would have any effect on the "no data" issue we were having.
call the helpdesk and ask them to change you to the Z10 plan.
i have to go back to TSTT tomorrow so i'll ask about the 10.1 update again.

on a side note, two people i spoke to in TSTT doesn't even know that a BIS plan isn't needed for the Z10 or BBM works out of the box with wifi only...
one CSR told me that no apn is needed with the Z10 plan they have and mine is still blackberry.net10

idk WTF to believe with these people...steups

EDIT: bmobile.tt.blackberry.com is down for the past two days as well...

EDIT2: after being switched to the "Z10" plan, I no longer have BIS, I put my sim in a 9300 and even though it displayed 3G, the blackberry logo wasn't there. I was able to use the browser but bbm didnt work.

I hope that the random reboot issue is solved soon. Why the jump from 14xx to 16xx?
    Is there something big new?!!?

Question for you guys. If I do a backup with BB Link and install this to my Z10 running 10.0, will the restore replace all of the apps that I have installed (BB Native and Android Ports)? What data would be missing if I do a restore via Link?
If they are installed via BlackBerry World - yes, they are backed up. A sideloaded - no.

Saw that screen exactly once after starting sideloaded Shazam on the last leak. Only the once, and never came up for my other sideloaded apps.

Speaking of Shazam, has anyone tried it? I was happy to see it open, and it actually seemed to work beautifully (WAY more responsive than we've come to expect from Android ports), but it throws that "another application may be using the microphone" error whenever you try to tag something. If that's been resolved with this build I'll try it.

Is this the Final Version? Edit 2: Nevermind. Installed it and Autoloader says "IFS/OS Version = 10.1.0.1627 DEV" So this is not the Final OS we will get from our Carrier.

EDIT: Seems i have to make a complete freah install. Trying to make a BackUp from 10.1.0.1483 with BB Link - no Luck
