Does it matter which version you have installed?

I'm asking because my gmail is set to 90 days sync, but after a while, it reverts back to 30 days again.

I'm wondering if the Official .1762 leak would fix that or they are both the same, so I shouldn't waste my time.

    Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the official OS currently at .1720?

LOL, correction. I think you are right.

So I guess that answers my question on should I got to Offical .1720 or stick with Leaked .1762

    Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm sticking with leaked .1762 on my Z10. I'd rather wait for either carriers or lbfe to come out with something newer before wiping my phone again.

I'm really hoping we get another leak soon as well. The .1720 leak was giving me animation stutters, and the .1762 leak still hasn't fixed them. As a last resort I might try the official version of .1720 at some point, but I doubt it's any different from the leak.

Just an FYI. I've read in a couple of threads that you can't restore data backed up from a higher release to a lower one.

So, for example, I'm stuck on the 1762 leak since I couldn't go to the new 1720 official without sacrificing all my Password Keeper data. That's 600+ entries. (Boy, I miss the days when BB Protect could backup/restore select data.)

I'll check out Sachup+Sachibar, but ever since the many leaked releases, I have been doing things where I can do a clean start many times without any headaches of backup and restore:

-most everything is on the sd card
-went from password keeper to keepass
    -reminders are integrated with evernote
-all pics are automatically stored to box
-calendar is all based on Google calendar
-all important contacts are copied to the sim card

Doing the above, I can do a clean install and get my most important data back, at least the ones I care about.

Are the animation stutters as bad as .1627?

They seem to be a little bit less severe, but they're still hard to ignore if you use the device regularly.

I have a similar routine. I can change operating system versions faster than my girlfriend can change her outfit.

Sachup + Sachibar lets you choose what apps you want to install, other than just the core and radio.
It's also quite a bit quicker if you change OS a lot. No need to set up contacts again, backup/restore or anything like that.

Sachup is how the autoloaders are being created as well. You can grab the debrick images and create an autoloader from them with cap.

Basically, to get different firmware you just need to choose which country+carrier you want to view.

Hmmm... this might be pushing the envelope of my technical skills. I'll have to look at it when I get home to my PC. I'm travelling and now only carry my Z and Playbook. (The Playbook with keyboard has replaced my laptop!)

It's hardly technical. All the hard work is done for you. It's basically drag and drop.

    It can side-load applications too.

I finally got around to trying out Sachup+Sachibarand I can't see any where to backup individual apps and restore them later.

    Maybe we misunderstood each other.

There is no need to backup.
When you install a firmware with Sachibar, it does not wipe anything.

But you can't install the leaked firmware autoloader with this tool, correct?

    An autoloader is cap.exe + OS.bar + radio.bar

You can extract the OS and Radio.
