I have the feeling the superimposed PIN is a Schumck Bait;Research in Motion Blackberry Ltd. may know who the heck installed their leak. Then again, these leaks work both ways ( this allows BBRY to unofficially facilitate beta testing in real-life scenarios )

Noooo. I wanted to keep this a secret. I am now watching as my download speed drops. Still a lot faster than other sites though.

Go to BB they said, leave Android and custom ROMs, so you will have more time they said.

I see how, im downloading everyday a new version of BB10 .
^ this. I came from a very heavily modified developer version of the Galaxy Nexus. Literally flashed a ROM a week. I feel like a fiend with this forum bookmarked. (Although the Z10 is faster than a GNex at 1.72Ghz, and running the V6 supercharger + CM10, remember that)
Pin on the screen all the time is a non starter for me. This won't be my daily driver. I will install and play then role back to 10.1.4543...That is if I can get a download started.

Mega still unavailable, and the other links are showing 1.5 hours to download each part.... May wait until I am home tonight to download.
    Dude posted a link

    Uploaded to friends' web hosting.
This should be in the OP. Thanks brother, Downloading now, but it's kinda slow. (100kb/s, and it isn't my internet that's the problem )

As someone who has never installed a leak before, can someone confirm:

    1. Backup device via Link.
    2. Install beta software package from BB website.
    3. Install OS *only* from package provided by Kris.
    4. Restore device information from backup.
    5. Enjoy 10.2 goodness, albeit with PIN on screen.

Will the restore reinstate all my sideloaded apps, Activesync account, webmail accounts, etc? Are there any other caveats I should be aware of?

restore won't get the sideloaded apps. however, a smart trick is to sideload the apps before you restore your backup. this way you get your data back too, for most of the ported apps. other than that you are good to go

So far yes, my restore from the last 10.1 leak is almost finished...

You'll need to place the side loads back, it's recommend doing so before restoring. Accounts you'll just need to re.enter the password after reinstall... the caveat stands everything is at your own risk... always...

Full restore will probably fail. give it a go, but if it does, just load settings.
Sideloaded apps have to be manually reloaded, only restore apps after you've done that.
Get prepared to type in a lot of passwords.

Perfect, thanks for the heads up. Let me know how your restore goes ok?

Worst case scenario, I just wipe the device and relooad 10.1 right?

The network can absolutely see what OS version you're running.. the last time I called Rogers for something, they asked me if I was running the latest software 10.1.0.270 or something I think, I lied and said yes because I new the issue I was having network related, and didn't want to bother getting into that debate with the CSR.. a few seconds later he pauses.. and says hmm.. that's odd, it says here you're using 10.2.0.228.. i've never seen that number before.. LOL
